The hotel is so beautiful, very nice looking interior design and have a pretty garden at the backyard. 3 different patios with beautiful plants and has a nice small swiming pool with a nice sound of a waterfall below a mango tree. A really nice breakfast !!! The staff was really kind y warm. The bedrooms are so cousy and confy.

I traveled for business to Valledupar and stayed at La Malena for two nights. Guillermo and Rosario (the owners) are extremely nice and keep everything clean and tidy. There's always coffee in the living room, internet was good, and rooms are well appointed at an excellent price point.

Deceptive: you book for a price but upon arrival they charge you much more. They know your options are diminished on such short notice. The hotel is overpriced and has major defects. Outright obnoxious staff, not at all collaborative. Shower water floods into the bedroom but they refused to change my room and refused to repair the shower that wasn't draining properly and flooding. The area is not safe. You have safer options with better prices and locations. Having a high crime rate and hardly any attractions, Valledupar is not really a tourist city nor worth the hassle, much less with this hotel. Avoid.
