Stop scrolling through Booking, this is the perfect spot. Outside of town, but perfectly located on the main road to all the best adventure activities so it is super easy to catch a bus or taxi and the staff are always happy to help whether you're looking for public or private transportation. The restaurant on site is wonderful and there are a few other food options on the same complex. The rooms are very modern, spacious and extremely well kept. The bathroom comes well stocked with toiletries and their signature scent is really lovely, gosh I miss it! Everything is well ventilated so you can leave your gear to dry after watersports or if you would prefer to have it cleaned immediately, the laundry service is super quick and very affordable. Overall a really great spot at face value but the Trip Monkey staff are what really makes it special! Joss speaks perfect English and gives phenomenal recommendations. Give him an idea of what you like and he will have the perfect itinerary for you in seconds. There are a lot of great activities available through the hotel, all of which he has tried himself so just know the recommendations are coming straight from the heart! As an added bonus, you can pay for most of them through the hotel as well so you do not have to worry about carrying extra cash exploring. Fernando is an absolute sweetheart as well and always eager to help. The Santander region is extremely beautiful with something for everyone and Trip Monkey del Río is the perfect base camp. Stay as long as you can, this is the perfect place to make lifelong memories with the most wonderful people ☺️

Very comfortable hostel, big comfortable beds and big lockers to store your things. And special mention to Daiana, the manager, she was so friendly kind and help me organise my stay to make the most out of San Gil and surroundings.

Very polite and the staff is really kind. The views of the town from the hotel are amazing and the food is quite tasty.

Very nice place and excellent service staff

This was the best hostel I stayed in in South America! The pool is nice and clean, the sauna is nice as well! But the best part is the staff,. Daniella,. Amanda, Sebastian and Freddy make you feel like family.

The property was clean. Viviana was a excellent host. Had everything near bye. Was central to everything I wanted to do.

The staff was excellent when we had accidentally locked ourselves out on the balcony they were able to come up and rescue us promptly. And the location is top notch, there are plenty of adventure companies within 2 blocks and a few restaurants as well.

This place is an absolute gem. The property is lovely, the staff is lovely, the rooms and facilities are amazing and the food is great. Do not hesitate to stay here! We had the suite with private pool and enjoyed it very much. The pool even has a heater. Thank you to Mauricio and everyone else for the great time. If you need a tour guide around, make sure to ask for Herwin!

I liked the sight view and the service

Room was reasonably priced and worth the value. I'm an older traveler so usually look for something that is a little more private than a hostel and this fit that expectation. Hotel was not crowded so fairly quiet and relaxed.
