Getting around Bad Kissingen is easy. The food is good. The parks are nice and well kept. And the well behaved tourists that we encountered there, kept in tune with the tranquility of the place. All in all it was a relaxing and wholesome experience.

We visited Therme KissSalis Therme in Bad Kissingen.
We visited Therme KissSalis Therme in Bad Kissingen. It was a perfect experience. We were there for several hours and we used almost all the facilities that are available. There is a restaurant there, where tasty food is served. I would warmly recommend to visit this Spa.
We also walked shortly thought the town center. It looks well preserved. The houses seem cosy .

We were stationed in Bad Kissingen in the mid 80's, so we...
We were stationed in Bad Kissingen in the mid 80's, so we were familiar with the town. Bad Kissingen is smaller town in the Rhon region of northern Bavaria. It has some interesting sights to see that are centered around the Kur facilities. Old palaces and the halls where the mineral water is the key attraction. It's real attraction is it's location by the Saale river and the manicured grounds and trails that radiate from the center of town and out to the surrounding mountains. The area around BK is very beautiful and has a lot of traditional little German towns in rolling countryside. Recommendation if you visit is to do it by car to allow you to get out into the country side to explore.
Attractions near by are the Kreuzberg, which has a monastery and is famous for it's beer and the nature trails that wind up through the mountain that gives it it's name. There is also the Wasserkuppa which is another mountain that is nearby. This entire area is a part of the UNESCO Reserve Biosphere Rhon.

Very, very nice.
Very, very nice. The river, the fountain, the availability to walk around the river, many benches to relax and enjoy the view.
To stay longer wasn't possible but I would have liked to and visit the many stores.
Construction was, as it's everywhere, a disappointment.
NOTE: we live and traveled to Bad Kissingen from the USA:-)

Besides the gorgeous parks you can stroll or jog in, the old...
Besides the gorgeous parks you can stroll or jog in, the old town has fantastic restaurants and cafes, as well as some great shopping. There is a fancy casino and some great concerts are offered in the beautiful concert hall. We spent an afternoon in the warm thermal swimming pool complex--where the coincidentally has Salsa Night! Hike up to the Kaiser Sissi monument for a fantastic view of Bad Kissingen!

Probably too much has been written about the location.
Probably too much has been written about the location. Most of it relies on past pastimes and lifestyles, but there is a modern touch to some things, so it blends together well. Especially the water-based screen shows in the evening are quite a spectactle, albeit of course not a blockbuster... but see for yourself and find out. Ah, and for the connoisseur: you are still in the most Franconian part of Franconia all around within Bavaria but somehow you are not... quite unique.

Good location between the train station and the center of the town. Hotel was clean, well presented, and the rooms were a good size. Hotel restaurant was nice and food was of a good standard.
