The hotel was ok overall for my one day stay.
The hotel was ok overall for my one day stay. The receptionist was very helpful. But Monte Playa is a dump. Poor, drab, shops close early, no good restaurants, only fried chicken and rice. No Uber service there. That was the worse thing of all. I had to get a taxi for my return to Boca Chica which was $70, very expensive. But the surrounding countryside is very beautiful. I do not recommend Monte Plata, however my experience is based on a one day stay; if I was there longer perhaps I would discover something positive to report.
