United StatesWe took a small bus from Galeras to Samana 35 minutes ride . I read all reviews and I know that was one or two blocks of challenge but we made it to paradise !!! Stayed 3 Days . Love the attention to detail in the property, the stuff was super helpful, delicious breakfast!!! When you take a taxi Tuc Tuc etc make sure that you say going to Calle Panchita , it was the hotel Dandam previously that’s how they local people know the place since is New . Hotel , love the rooms , the pool , the Stuff , thank you Eddy, Julia , Rosemarie, Anairi and Samuel they make our stay amazing 🤩

Paul is such a charming host.
Paul is such a charming host. If you catch him in the right time he can tell you all about his adventures. He also knows a lot about local amenities such as restaurants, beaches, expeditions, and transport. The apartment we stayed was a lovely little place with everything we needed. We got good exercise walking up and down the stairs but we were rewarded by a lovely view. Also being near locals we got a good feel about local culture and social interactions. The internet connection was the best we came across in Samana.

Our stay at Wyndham Alltra was wonderful, and the staff truly made the experience exceptional.
A special thank you to Bernardo, all of the bartenders, and the amazing front desk staff — especially Bienvenida and Alizlady — who were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality really stood out and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
Another shout-out to Josefina, who made my omelette every morning and always started the day with a smile. It was such a nice personal touch that made breakfast something to look forward to.
The food was very good, and the beach and grounds were beautiful, open, and very natural. The pool was always clean, and the gift shops were well stocked with everything you might need.
We also really enjoyed the entertainment at the Umi Japanese restaurant, which made for a fun and memorable dining experience.
Overall, we had a great stay and truly appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Thank you to everyone at Wyndham Alltra for making our stay so enjoyable.

There were a number of good restaurants.
There were a number of good restaurants. As we were there for only 24 hours we only had supper and lunch, both good. Whale watching was the reason for our visit , which we thoroughly enjoyed. Again Ana our host suggested the company which had a marine Biologist Kim who was extremely knowledgeable and experienced.

Strange vibes in this town, we were constantly harassed by people selling things, it was really uncomfortable. The whole three days we were there we only saw maybe 3 or 4 other white people, we felt we stuck out in a really bad way and felt very unsafe at night.

Las Galeras was a perfect place to stay. Beautiful beaches. If you like snorkeling and diving this is the place to visit. Samana is good for fishing whale watching. There are some beautiful hotels in Samana. A lot of Bed And Breakfast if you prefer to stay there. Beaches must go to Las Galera. Samana you can take the Gua Gua (bus) from Puerto Plata DR, to Samana for 400 paiso . The ride is safe and they make a 2 hr stop for food and bathroom. The total travel time is 4 hours to Samana and then if you want to go to LaGaleras it's 1 hr more and costs 120 paiso.

The hotel and the location are exquisite. The food can vary from excellent to ok from dish to dish but all that is minor in comparison to the quality of service. This is probably one of the best trained teams I have ever encountered. They have purpose and do everything with pleasure and a smile. It makes for a total luxury experience. The material part which is impecable is nothing in comparison with the experience of being made to feel very special by every member of the team. Congratulations that is luxury hospitality. 👏👏

The hotel seems new, so everything was very clean and nicely decorated. The receptionist was missing when I arrived to check in (he was eating lunch out the back) but soon came, and was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very modern, the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. We loved the pool and roof top bar although they close quite early. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
