SpainDidn't really expect anything much, but boy were we in for a pleasant surprise! The rooms are spacious and well fitted out. Imagine hardwood floors! In Spain! Just overall high quality fittings, bed, etc. Will definitely come back. Svetlana the receptionist was nice and welcoming. The hotel has an agreement with a nearby underground parking and you get a special rate.

The Dali museum is worth going to Figueres for.
The Dali museum is worth going to Figueres for. If you are not interested in going there I am not sure Figueres is a particularly appealing tourist spot. The centre is attractive to walk around but most restaurants were closed in the evening when we were there in early June.

We arrived mid-evening and left in the morning but we missed out on some good sightseeing and will try to come back someday. Not a good weekend to wander around as it was raining all of the time that we were there, not surprisingly near Christmas.

Although the property is well located, the bathroom...
Although the property is well located, the bathroom facilities were deficient. It needs a good repair and update. Also the access was very complicated, because we first had to get the key to the place to then open the gate, in an street with transit with no place to temporarily park.

The time spent in Figueres which was 7 days was just right for this visit, we attended a family wedding at the end of the week which was a 3 day occasion. I think that 3-4 days is probably a good length of time to embrace Figueres.
The Town is lovely with nice shops, bars and restaurants and the Salvador Dali museum is definitely worth a visit.
We took a Taxi to the resort of Roses which was a lovely day, visiting the beach, restaurants and town. You can also get around easily on the buses and trains. It is possible to visit Barcelona by bus and train also.

The most interesting thing in Figueres is Salvador Dali's...
The most interesting thing in Figueres is Salvador Dali's Museum and also his birth house.
The military fortification (Castillo de San Fernando) on top of the hill is walking distance from downtown and worth a visit. It is the biggest in Europe I believe.
Figueres can also be a good base, if you have a car, to explore Cape Creus and the beautiful towns of Cadaques, Port de la Selva and Llança.

Well, its not that Salvador Dali is an attraction HE IS THE...
Well, its not that Salvador Dali is an attraction HE IS THE TOWN- it was great to be there see his "Cassa Natal", Teatre Dali Muse and then hike out to Cadaques and thence to Pubol- but I felt that there could have been a bus that would have taken visitors/devotees there and not make it so difficult by:
-Bus
-Train
-By Foot
for the autoless travelers.
But sure, that's the way of the world isn't it?
Apart from that I loved the kids rollerskating at breakneck speeds on the Ramblas.

Joan an Carme are very welcoming, nice and discreete.
The apartment was fresh at hour arrival, clean and good looking.
The flat is fitted with all the necessary equipment (quality and new + soap and cleaning products) for a confortable short stay.
It is quiet but close to the city center and to the major ways to reach the seaside, Girona, Barcelona and plenty of interesting historical heritage places around.
Figueres city also has many interesting places to visit and the tourist information provided by the owners was very helpful.

Room was well laid out. Breakfast was the best we've had in Spain with Real Orange machine, salmon, decent coffee and a good range in the buffet.
Location is great, around the corner from the main square and Dali Museum, but away from the road works. Easy to find hotel and garage is at the back.
The outside may look a but tired, but inside a bright and clean, with lots of Dali works dotted around.
