The restaurant was an unexpected bonus. We got there late in the day and left early the next morning. In between we had two of our best meals in Spain in the two weeks we’ve been here. Dinner is well worth the 22 Euro per person for the set meal. The consume and Sea-bass were exceptional. My husband couldn’t stop raving about the curry bbq chicken and seafood rice. Breakfast was also the most extensive buffet we’ve come across so far. The woman at the front desk tried to be helpful getting us a cab. I ended up finding one on my own but I appreciate her effort. The room was clean, quiet & comfortable. The hotel is outside the main part of town but it’s only a 5 minute walk to town.

We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river with mountain views. The room was beautifully and uniquely designed, with lovely small touches. The breakfast was the best we had in Spain, lovingly prepared by friendly staff. The overall ambience was very pleasant, made especially so by Nuria, the friendly and attentive host. Highly recommended!

The location provided you scenes of gorgeous and dramatic mountains + a river which was what we needed from a city break. The interior of the hotel was quite romantic and very well designed, PERFECT for a couple's getaway.

The location was great. Easy short walking trail to town. Access to some beautiful hikes. Breakfast was very good. The onsite restaurant was also very good. Staff was very helpful.

Really comfortable and spacious room with a nice balcony for reading and looking at the mountains in the afternoon. The air conditioning worked perfectly. There was also a small, local swimming spot at the lake behind the hotel, which was great to cool off on the hot summer days. The staff were very friendly. For hiking - we drove to two areas (about 30-40mins away) on the two days we stayed, as these hikes were more picturesque than the ones leaving from Escalona. The hotel was also able to provide a packed lunch for a fee. The information centre in town (<10 min walk from accommodation) were really helpful in providing maps, routes and information for hiking.
