Charles made us feel home right away.
Charles made us feel home right away. The historic atmosphere and the vintage interior was just what we were looking for.
We stayed only one night as it was on the route by car, but got EV topped up and were well rested after an excellent breakfast.
Place was clean and you will need to look long for such a pleasant and helpfull host. Thanks!

The town is small with few restaurants, cafes or bars.
The town is small with few restaurants, cafes or bars. There is however one excellent restaurant St Huberts. Not sure what there is to do around the area although Napoleon's school was about 20 kms away.

A quiet provincial town with all the facilities you might need such as a boulangerie, fuel, supermarket, etc. A nice walk along the river and around the grounds of the town hall reveals a hidden woodland playground for children. Lots of crows and wood peckers amongst the old trees.

Easy to book. Quoted 94 euro on booking.com for the room. We contacted the hotel prior to arrival to arrange a table in the restaurant which was confirmed. On arrival at 8.15pm we were welcomed and asked to go to the restaurant to order our food as the chef was finishing at 9pm. ....we could go to our room afterwards
food was ordered as were two beers.
when the bill was presented it included euro 117 for the room, Euro 58 for the food, euro 19.60 for TWO beers and various unexplained taxes. Total being euro 194. The staff member said that was the cost and everything was correct. at 9.30pm and having driven 1100 miles since 4am that morning it wasnt as if i had any choice. It was the 4th time i have stayed at this hotel and first time i have encountered any issues. I simply think that we were being taken advantage of.

The very historic church is only open on Thursday mornings,...
The very historic church is only open on Thursday mornings, so time your stay for a visit there. The bridge over the Aube was the site of several battles, and is a gorgeous setting, as well. There is a public park at the Mairie (City hall) which is worth the short walk. But not much else to see in the small village.

Excellent location close to main road and easy to find.
Excellent location close to main road and easy to find. Beautiful building with authentic features. Charles made us very welcome and we had a lovely time. Our room was excellent, very comfortable and a good bed. We choose to have our evening meal there, which was beautifully cooked and served in a very happy and friendly environment. Would recommend a stay here and intend to return ourselves.

Beautiful Villa and Charles and the staff were fantastic! Very last minute (as the restaurants were shut due to a holiday!) they produced the most wonderful supper for a full hotel (including special requests from the children) Delicious! Amazing champagne and wine selection and brilliant breakfast! Thank you for the perfect last stop on our way home…we will be back!

We loved this little hotel by the River Aube on our way through France to Italy. They were welcoming, there was secure parking for a small fee so we didn’t have to unload, dinner and breakfast was on the terrace, food was good, rooms and beds modern and comfortable.
