The location is convenient to the waterfront, but in a very quiet neighborhood. The owners are very thoughtful and helpful, and gave us a nice introduction to the area. The breakfast exceeded expectations and the owner was very attentive to make sure that we had what we needed. The room and the bed were comfortable and clean. Our sea-view room was charming. There were flowers blooming all over the property, even in the middle of November!

This is a quiet town that values art, music and literature.

This is a quiet town that values art, music and literature. Lovely quaint roads (Guy du Maupassant), long port point walk on outer coast, gorgeous trail views from trails along coast (plage Rene ROS to plage capelan-go early morning). Worth a stay2-3 days.

Bandol is like Benidorm!

Bandol is like Benidorm! Nothing like the Bandol I knew several years ago. There is strip of shops along the sea front, cafes and the smell of fried food, we could not find a decent restaurant over looking the sea!

The main party of town is a tourist trap like practically every French or Italian town along that stretch of the Med. But they do have a great ice-cream parlor with home made ice-cream in interesting flavors (like basil and lemon, which sounds weird but is good enough to have twice). But it does have some of the best beaches: not too big, pointed in just the right direction, with a pleasant assortment of fellow beach goers. On the way out of town is pretty much the best backer in the south of France (just down the road from the Intermarche) and a fantastic butcher (just down the road from the super U). The area is also full of vineyards to visit, though I find Bandol rose a bit overrated myself. I mention that because most of the restaurants are OK. Passable, but just OK. For any bikers in the crowd, I'd really, really recommend the hill just above Toulon. Its a one way up and down with a bit of a flat at the top to catch your breath (and take picture of WW II tank or a cannon that was happy to take a selfie with my bike) and hairpins all the way down. Weee! Just be carful flying past Dutch dads in their minivans.

A secret haven in Provence, French holiday-makers mostly, fabulous boats and yachts to look at, cool, trendy boutiques and great bars and restaurants. Interesting back streets, Served by train and just a 10 minute walk to the town and harbour from the station. Various beaches across from the cafes, and palm trees line the promenade. South of France at its best.

A nice town with plenty of bars and restaurants and good beaches. We stayed in a hotel for 2 days and then a villa with all the family for 6 nights. Plenty of places to visit within easy reach if Bandol.

It's not the most historically picturesque of the many...

It's not the most historically picturesque of the many competing seaside locations in the south of France but that probably makes it a little less crowded and it is very pleasant with attractive bays offering a lively port, pretty beaches and places to explore plus all the usual shopping and eating facilities. There's a good local train service to many other places along the coast.
