We arrived at this location after a very stressful day of all travel plans going awry. The last straw was that we missed the last bus going to Pierrefonds from Compiégne. I called the host and he was able to arrange for an Uber driver to pick us up at the bus station. It was much more expensive (70 Euros instead of the 6 Euros for the bus), but the driver did have to make two trips because there were six of us. When we finally arrived the host informed us that there was no more stress there. The breakfast in the morning was so generous that we were able to buy some supplies in town that afternoon and used the leftovers to make lunch. On our departure the host kindly hauled all of our luggage to the bus stop (a 15 minute walk) in his car so that we wouldn't have to pull in along. An FYI to other travelers: I had read that the town of Pierrefonds was not a very nice town and that there were no restaurants or stores, that was not the case. We found it to be charming. There was a small grocery which had all the supplies for a nice, albeit quick lunch and we would have eaten dinner there the night before if I hadn't believed the reviews.

We visited Pierrefonds because my daughters loved the show...

We visited Pierrefonds because my daughters loved the show Merlin, but found the castle to be so much more than just the set of a TV show. I had read blogs and watch videos about others visiting the castle which mentioned that the town was not much of anything, but we found in to be charming. We would have eaten dinner in the town the night before we visited the castle instead of just grabbing something on the way, but because of the negative feedback I didn't know about the nice looking restaurants on the banks of a small lake.

The camping is beautifully located on a field in a nice hilly and wooded surrounding not far from Pierrefonds. The biggest plus though was the hospitality of the owner who was very kind and even took me for a walk. The breakfast was wonderful too; delicious and wonderfully presented. All in all a perfect and memorable stay.

Beautiful house located on the edge of Pierrefonds. Host, Angelique very helpful and responsive to questions. Pool refreshing at the end of a hot day out. Enjoyed spending time around the pool. Excellently located with château and forest for walking. Very peaceful spot. Very well equipped home with lovely extras.
