Beautiful village in the heart of wine country.

Beautiful village in the heart of wine country. Excellent options for food and drink with lots of restaurants and bars. The town feels sleepy and quiet Excellent vineyards close by so make so you book a tour of any of the quality producers of white, red and rose.

A gorgeous little French town that was everything we...

A gorgeous little French town that was everything we expected and more! Lots of wine producers and shops as you would imagine, and a lovely square with some great restaurants. The views from in front of the chateau are breathtaking across the vineyards to the Loire River. We only stayed one night as part of a road trip, but will do more next time.

If you stay in the village itself, it is a stunning location...

If you stay in the village itself, it is a stunning location with views over the Loire valley. Wine tasting is available in the village and some superb restaurants. We ate at La Taverne du Connétable, which does an amazing Goat Cheese (Local) Creme Brûlée as a starter. I also had an interesting Italian twist to Steak Tartare. Tasted wine at Chateau Sancerre in the village and they have people who speak, at least, English and French.

This brilliant hotel is a huge attraction.

This brilliant hotel is a huge attraction. The town is full of wine shops owned by the top local vintners. The views of the vineyards are special. Strangely rather a lot of the restaurants were shut on a Tuesday and Wednesday in July. Are they making so much that they don't want the business?

Sancerre is an interesting medieval town on a hill and is certainly good for a short stay, or longer if you intend to do a lot of activities in the area. The little village of Bue about 3 km away is something to behold with many vineyards on hill-slopes and on flat ground. There are many eateries in Sancerre, a bit pricey but you come to expect that for it's touristique location. English is quite well-spoken here by the servers.

The town was very pretty and pleasant for a stroll. Most restaurants are around the square. There is a chateau which we did not have time to visit, but had an art exhibition and Friday evening events in season which I think included a dinner.

Perfect location, a few minutes from the centre of Sancerre. A beautifully decorated, welcoming home - the eggs and biscuits were a lovely touch! Everything we could possibly need was at our fingertips. We genuinely did not want to leave and will definitely book again. The weather was unexpectedly glorious, so we were also able to make full use of the sunny garden. Thank you for sharing such a lovely house with us.
