I was on a 15-day bicycle tour and it was wonderful to be welcomed into a family's home after several nights in hotels. I felt I was being treated almost like a member of the family. I had loft sleeping space as well as a spacious sitting room - very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and my host even sent me off for the day's cycling with some food for the road. My host recommended a pizza place minutes away and I'd highly recommend going there for pizza. Staying here overnight was truly memorable in the best way.

Facilities were very good but the room, The Pigeonnaire, was awkwardly laid out. It's a lovely building but not 100% user friendly. The restaurant was great and provided excellent cuisine.

This 13th-century chateau is located in Vignieu, in the Rhône-Alpes region. It is set in a large wooded park and offers a heated swimming pool and free WiFi access.
