An excellent hotel with new, modern renovations. Excellent rooms. The gym, pool and sauna are small, but we had a wonderful time there. The restaurant has good service and the breakfast was delicious. There is a good selection of fruit and pastries, but it's best to arrive early. The hotel's location is very convenient, with the embankment and city centre within walking distance. We recommend it 100%.

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel and the ultra friendly staff especially isabelle and fabio. The whole team gave us a nice warm welcome and the foods pretty good too. Honestly although we are locals we like something different from the norm and this will now be our new go to place for a nice little break

This is a lovely hotel with great rooms at a great price for the location. A lively bar scene and all facilities great. The manager was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us a refund when our plans went awry and we couldn’t stay one night, even though they were not obliged to.

Easily accessible beach and harbour.

Easily accessible beach and harbour. Access to delightful boat trips, and small villages nearby. Good restaurants, lots of choices with pretty views. Beautiful town with lovely gardens and palm trees. Also enjoyed the Torre Abbey and gardens as well as the theatre for a great Queen Tribute Band. A very enjoyable experience

We stayed in Paignton and just had a day in Torquay.

We stayed in Paignton and just had a day in Torquay. As a regular visitor during the 70s and again in the 00s, I was so disappointed in how it has gone down. The first thing you notice is the filthy beer-stained pavements that look like they haven't been cleaned for years. Half the shops appear to be closed or boarded up - many of the rest are bargain stores, vape shops and charity shops - none of the little independent shops that used to flourish. This was late July, peak holiday season, yet the place seemed deserted - it used to be vibrant. The harbour area is by far the best bit - it seems to have been kept clean and the pubs and shops seemed more upbeat and welcoming.

Walked to Babbacombe, good variety of cafes and a reasonable, if dated municipal swimming pool. Babbacombe beach was easily accessible either by walking or the railway. Torquay was very pleasant with a wide variety of cafes and restaurants, well set out, but its centre really needs to be revitalised somehow. It's typical of many UK seaside resorts with most the major shops not present in the centre. Took to train to Paignton. Beach was ok and the pier had lots of typical types of attraction. Meadfoot beach took some effort to get to but it was sunny, though the beach is very pebbly. The cafe was good.

I loved Torquay, a very pleasant town.

I loved Torquay, a very pleasant town. Besides the beach (which is submerged during parts of the day), it has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, shops and various activities in the area. Nearby attractions include Cockington Country Park/Village/Court, Tor Abbey museum, the Torquay museum, the Southwest Coast Path, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones (Victorian museum nearby), the Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Kents Caverns, the Dartmouth Steam Railway (from nearby Paignton), and the ferry to Brixham (where there's the Golden Hinde museum). There's also a theatre in town and one in Paignton that was showing an Agatha Christie play when I was there.

Torquay town centre isn't what it was with the closed Debenhams store boarded up, but the harbour area and seafront are as lovely as ever. There's plenty of places to eat and drink, but if you want one of the decent resteraunts such as the Elephant or No 7, book well in advance.

With out doubt the best views from our room across Torquay, The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best I have ever slept on. The shower was extremely powerful and ideal for a back massage!!! The value for money was very pleasing and my wife and I will definitely be going back, Heidi was also extremely helpful when booking.com messed the reservation up. Brilliant Hotel *****

The room had a walk in shower, which I had asked and paid for, but the actual shower pipe leaked reducing the water pressure. The shower tray seemed to fill up but not enough to spill over by the time we had finished showering. The location of the hotel was good with a sea view and the ability to stroll into Torquay or catch a bus to Brixham/Paignton.
