The location was amazing, if you're looking just to relax without a lot of people around, this is the place to be and the hosts are absolutely amazing. The restaurant is only open in the mornings for breakfast and in the evenings for dinner, the owner Theo is the chef and the food was very delicious every single time. The apartments are good and offer all what you need, the swimming pool is clean, bikes or a car can be rented on site and the sand beach is just a 5min walk away. Supermarkets are also very near. Can definitely recommend coming here for a relaxing holiday.

Natures Den is the best hotel experience I’ve ever had on holiday! It is truly a luxury staying on the property with all of the amenities it has to offer, every detail is considered, the space is divine. We especially enjoyed the private pool, the multiple outdoor seating areas, the stunning views of the mountains, sun rise, sun set, the stars and moon. Inside the apartment one has everything you would need, 5 different coffee machines, juice press, ice cubes, frozen drink mugs, and complimentary food in the fridge, washing machine, 2 bathrooms, beautiful bed, comfortable couch, chess board, lovely toiletries. Nikos and Sofia have excellent taste, it is clear they have put their hearts and soul into their property and love sharing it with visitors. When we departed Niko picked figs from the tree for us, so sweet, it was unforgettable. I only wish we could have stayed at least one week.

I was greeted by Stephanus (the owner) Very nice young man who told me he only completed the build in July 2024. I had the whole place to myself which was amazing. You can sleep with the windows open and the only thing you'll hear are the bells on the sheep. (best nights sleep in a very comfy new bed) My reason for going to Frangokastello was to experience the dark sky and it didn't disappoint I will defiantly be returning.

It was great getting from charming Chania onto a 2 pm bus...

It was great getting from charming Chania onto a 2 pm bus and arriving after a breathtaking journey up and over the mountains to the unspoilt plateau of Frangokastello. If you love quiet tranquil Greece then this is for you. A visit to the castle shell is fun and the bay in front of it has sugar soft sand and turquoise sea. Attached to Oasis is a very good taverna overlooking the sea. Well worth eating in. Further along at Oasis apartments the beach has courser sand but is very tranquil and dotted with shady trees. Walking further along 5he water line there is a small rustic taverna with delicious local food. Bus journeys out can take you to walk in local Gorges. It is a pace that slows you down and allows you to declutter your head. I love it.

It looks remote and quiet as it has vast seashore fields with different dwellings scattered across it. But it has everything you would need for staying and exploring, plus quietness for relaxation. Wonderful place to spent your time surrounded by nature.

Good beach with beds and shades.

Good beach with beds and shades. Lovely clear water, great place to swim. Nice tavernas. Great backdrop of the white mountains and the castle when you are in the water. Not too many people in October but can imagine it would be crowded in high season. Surrounding area is dry rocky and barren. Come for the beach and Imbros gorge but not for a scenic walk.

Frangokastello is an amazing place for people who value the unspoiled nature and wonderful beaches, it is wild and gorgeous with the mountains on the one side and sea on the other. The area offers great gorges and paths for hiking, the beaches are very clean and beautiful. The tavernas offer great local food and there are many apartments with great quality.

Wild and wonderful corner of South Crete, with not many turists. Frangokastello offers the possibility to know sea and mountains, beaches are beautiful and of different typologies (sandy, pebbles, cliff). Tavernas (fish and/or meat) are numerous and of very good quality, not at all expensive

I liked the hosting family very much, who did their best to make us comfortable after we complained about our first night there with no hotwater or view of Sea as advertised.We were moved upstairs to a better room. We enjoyed walking to the bakery for fresh bread and baked goods and a good supermarket was near. Also a good bay for swimming and lots of naturewalks in area but you need a car. Took ferry to Agia Roumeli whereas walked to a part of the Samaria gorge from the south

We had such a wonderful stay! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, every question or request was met with a smile and genuine joy. The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from a beautiful beach and close to excellent restaurants. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, and the breakfast was varied and absolutely delicious. We also loved the locally made honey we bought from the hotel, such a special touch! We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely come back again.

This hotel is for independent travellers who like to self cater (well equipped kitchen provided) and who don't need posh buffet breakfasts nor indeed even sun umbrellas. The natural shade of the large tamarisk trees in front at the beach provided all the shade you needed and were beautiful to look at as well. Handy supermarket across the road and untouched beaches galore.

The location is amazing, just a minute walk from the beautiful Frangokastelo beach. There is lots of grass and shade and space for the kids to play in the hotel yard. It is also very nice place for the adults to sit in front of the sea and enjoy the fresh breeze. I could stay there another night.

A cozy hotel next to a beautiful beach. Own pool. Clean, everything you need in the kitchen. Attentive hosts, responded to all requests. Nearby is a 14th century fortress. Shop, taverns. A great option for a relaxed family holiday. You can also get to exotic beaches like Marmara by car.
