United StatesThe staff was exceptionally friendly and took great care of us. The resort is super clean, and our suite was just beautiful and spacious with 2 full baths and great a/c. The food was wonderful in both the main dining area and the resort restaurants. I am an American fluent in Greek so I connected with the staff. They are really nice people. We were there in late July so I don't know if the resort was at full capacity or not, but there were plenty of chairs available on the beach, plenty of room on the pool decks and in the pools. The water park at the back of the resort was so much fun, too. If you don't want to walk to the beach (which seems far, but it's really not) you can go via golf cart. The staff is there to ensure you have and enjoyable stay, and we certainly did. Τα περασαμε πολη καλα, Happy!!

A lovely little historic Cretan village, about 45 mns from...
A lovely little historic Cretan village, about 45 mns from Chania. A few lovely, reasonay priced restuarants, little supermarkets and craft shops. It is inland, so travel needed for beaches .Other nearby towns have a little more facilities. No direct buses, so i used local cabs - would be a grest base if you hired car and travelled around.

Lovely little in land village , i visited as was visiting my relatives here. Village is small but very pretty and has some lovely restaurants around the square. There are other villages nearby, beach resorts and Chania not too far away.
Would be best to hire car for a visit. I had to use local taxis during short trip.

Gavalochori is a fabulous village, we have been there several times and recommend it as a place to either visit or stay. I would strongly recommend that you hire a car, since there is no public transport.

We loved Gavalachori.
We loved Gavalachori. It had 3 very good tavernas plus a mini market. and a very nice gift shop. Free parking. Places of interest were the museum, the ancient wells and the very old olive press. It is conveniently only 7 kms from the lovely beach of Kalives. There is a daily bus to Chania as well..

The Villa is up a hill (very narrow road so don’t hire a big car) with amazing views of the mountains and sunset from the two balconies. It’s a working village with a locals bar and 2 great tavernas. We did very little which was just what we needed. It’s incredibly well maintained and immaculate

Two good tavernas with excellent food and atmosphere. The local bakery was convenient as were the two small shops. The village square was bustling in the evenings. The beaches of Almyrida and Kalyves were 10 mins drive away. Excellent centre for seeing the area. A car is essential
