Clean hotel close to Phaistos site.

Spent over a week at this beautiful place for my honeymoon. The location is excellent very close to many beautiful beaches and authentic Cretian restaurants. The bungalow was beautiful and extremely luxurious. Our room was kept super clean with new towels provided when needed. You feel like you are on a true vacation in the country with all the amenities you need. The owners and staff are extremely attentive and kind. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with so many options to choose from. They also have a barista on staff who can make delicious lattes and tea. Really happy we found this place and highly recommend it if you want a five star resort experience in Crete.

A wonderful villa with hospitable hosts. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. Throughout the entire stay, we felt fantastic. The location is excellent – the villa is right on the beach, the beach is sunny all day long, with a beautiful view from the apartments and the terrace where food is served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is a spacious parking area right in front of the villa. The room is very comfortable, with tall mirrors that suit both tall and short people. The air conditioning works well and quietly; it's easy to set it to turn off after a few hours. The remote control doesn't emit light at night. The WiFi sometimes had connection issues and loaded slowly, but it was satisfactory for our needs. The beds are generally comfortable. There are shutters to protect against the sun and the gaze of other guests. The room includes a refrigerator, stove, utensils, salt, and pepper – everything you need. Breakfast was included in the price, offering a choice of eggs (boiled, fried) with bacon, toast, and other options. Overall, we were very pleased with the breakfast! For lunch, the menu offers various choices, from pork to chicken and fish, served with salad or french fries. The prices are low; we had lunch and dinner for 17 to 25 euros. The one have the option to take food to go or to the beach. The beach is beautiful all day long. The villa provides its own sunbeds and umbrellas, which are offered for free. There are many interesting stones for snorkeling. There's a unique opportunity to go out before bedtime and gaze at the stars and the night sky. Special thanks go to the villa hosts. All our requests were fulfilled: they brought a kettle to our room, made various changes to the dishes. Upon arrival and departure, bottles of cold water awaited us. On the day of departure, the hostess asked her mother to be up by 7:30 (breakfast from 8:00 to 9:00) so that we could have breakfast earlier and make it to our flight on time.

This modern small hotel has comfortable rooms and a lovely swimming pool. It is short walking distance to the beach and beachfront restaurants. Kalamaki Beach is quiet and old-timey compared to Matala. The hotel is also in close driving distance to Phaestos and other sites. We even took a cooking class about a 20 minute drive from the hotel (Cretan Vibes). This hotel seems to cater to Germans - there was a group there staying for a few weeks!

Stunning stone built compound, beautiful and spacious room, well decorated and clean, super quiet despite the proximity to the pool and restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were great. The staff were very friendly, family owned hotel.

Everything. We had been in the same apartment last year, enjoyed a lot (details in my review from June 2023), and we were back this year again (this time for the whole week, even if we'd like to stay even more). I think this says it all.

The room in the basement is large and with a well equipped kitchen it has smaller windows but it was quite ok, with enough natural light.

Melissa Hotel is a beautiful family run business. It is within walking distance of the beach but far enough away from the busyness to be peaceful. The service we received was excellent and we were made to feel right at home . Breakfast offered a variety of dishes, many of which had been made in house.

I loved everything about Marina hotel. the location is quite and surrounded by nature but still a frw min. walk from the center. The pool is great! the hosting is generous and helpfull, the staff are super nice. I loved the lounge and breakfast area on the central floor, beautifull, charming, great vibes, airy and very clean. The breakfast delicious super comfy beds. would come back for sure! loved it.
