Raul was the absolute best. He make sure we are well taken care of. He is very active and very well communicated. The room is clean and new. We booked the room with no air-con (didnt notice properly) and then got moved to room with air-con once it’s available with no problem, no hassle. Better for travelers who like peaceful vibe.

I had a wonderful stay at River Post! Even got upgraded to a more spacious room. The Internet was fast, the bed comfortable, and the aircon a blessing. Manoj and Janith were very welcoming and helpful. They helped me get a motorbike for a decent price, and even connected me to a neighbor with a sowing machine when I needed a piece of clothing to fix :)

Kindest hosts we have met so far. We were so surprised to see such big room. After travelling for some time it was so nice to be able to sit in the room (on the balcony). The facilities including our room were spotless clean. Breakfasts were delicious and most importantly local! We were served juice every morning with our meals. Jungle Beach is 7 minute walk from the guesthouse!

Amazing food, the restaurant is owned by an Italian chef and his wife. They also hired an Italian pasta chef to make the pasta and pizza and everyone else who is hired is local Sri Lankian. Every single person was very profession and very kind and generous. It’s worth it for just the coffee alone! They also have a cute shop with some clothes and clean skin care products. Would stay again!

Went to Kai club on the beach. Good food and also amenities when you are visiting the beach. It also has a pool. So had good time getting drenched both at the beach and also at the pool later on. Neatly maintained showers, restrooms and changing rooms.

Weligama is a surf hub with lots of trendy spots for food.

Weligama is a surf hub with lots of trendy spots for food. There are hidden beaches and family restaurant eats too. It can be a bit hectic and it was a bit disappointing that swimming at the main beach was not appealing but we overall enjoyed the stay as a hub for accessing other beaches including coconut, jungle and Mirissa.

We loved how friendly and kind all Sri Lankan people we're. Plenty of places to eat. Perfect location for the beach and surfers too. Tuk tuks were very cheap and easy to flag down straight away. Lots of things to see and do. It was lovely to see the release of baby turtles during the day and to take part in helping the turtles on their journey to the sea ☺️ Tuana restaurant in Marissa was amazing, fantastic food and service. The snake farm was great and the Safari. My husband went on a fishing boat trip and caught lots of fish too.

Long sandy beach with cheap surf board rental and lessons perfect for beginners . Lively town with lots of accomodation and food choices in the budget range. Easy travel along the coast to other beaches by tul-tuk.

When we come to Sri Lanka again we will split our trip into 3 or 4 sections. It is big and there is lots to see and we didn’t see all. But, we loved the area and got out and about most days. Our whale watching trip was great but getting around on Tuk tuks and seeing as much as we could was great and the beaches are lovely. It’s a great place to visit and we will go back for certain Dinner at Catch99 was amazing watching the sunset right by the sea, the sunset at Coconut Tree Hill was great, Chandi’s home made curry restaurant next to the hotel was lovely too.

Weligama is a great place, seemingly a little more natural...

Weligama is a great place, seemingly a little more natural and gentle than Mirissa. There are fantasitic beaches and eateries, and a range of hotels, from high quality to reasonably priced. People are friendly and helpful and we got some great recommendations for restaurants - like Shirani Home Made Rice and Curry and Cutty Sark. There are lots of things to do - surfing, surf lessons, tut-tut tours, seafood, turtle watching (including watching baby turtles go back to the sea), swimming (watch out for the rips!), just relaxing. Just be clear about what you want to do on your holiday and choose accordingly.

We had the most wonderful stay at Naomi Beach Hotel in Midigama. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — their warmth and friendliness truly made the experience special. The hotel is in a fabulous location, just steps from the beach and close to everything you need, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were beautifully designed and spotlessly cleaned every day. The restaurant served some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka — every meal was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented.

The location is great, just in front of the beach with perfect waves coming in all day long. Only you have to do is to lift your head from your pillow and the check the conditions. The staff is as everywhere in Sri Lanka super nice. But I think hotel management is only about making money. So bad food, loud music and awfull choice of sunbeds and chairs. But the location is really great therefore we booked this hotel. A bonus is the SPA, really, really great!

We had the best stay in Sri Lanka. First of all is so unique to stay at a hotel fully managed by the owner, Enrico and seeing his project growing. He is always making sure clients feel like home and has the highest standards for his hotel, which makes the rooms and all common areas to be comfortable, with all needed amenities, 100% clean, and with a cozy and beautiful decoration. It's a very very social place which makes it very easy to meet other travellers, go to parties and enjoy Weligama together. I enjoyed having a kitchen (because in many hostels in Sri Lanka there's not). Also the location is really nice - not directly at the beach but still 5 minute (or less) walking to the surfschools, also supermarket and shops are super close.
