LatviaAlthough it is by the main road, sounds from the outside do not break the peace. Some occasional sirens or loud engine was audible, but they were not an inconvenience. Had a good sleep.
Clean apartment. Everything available. Everything up to standard and working so no complaints there. Communication was very pleasant with quick response and clear instructions.
Really nothing negative to say about my experience. Definitely worth the money.
The whole city is a walking distance.

Has beautiful sights, monument, the biggest concert hall of the Latgalē, lots of ponds and river.
Enough of shops, bigger ones having only good variety of products, but prices are low for western Europeans.
Would be nice , if shopkeepers would speak English.
We ate in Ausmena Kebabs, food was really internationally high quality and sizes were enough.
Buses from such a big city, could be going to nearby villages more often,sometimes it's just 1-2 or zero times per day they are.
What's missing ? Self -washing service for clothes . Is only one washing company, that usually washes by next day.

Rezekne is a great place to relax for few days.
Rezekne is a great place to relax for few days. Most of things are within walking distance - you can go from city centre to lake Rezekne and see a lot of things. Check out if there are some concerts happening in GORS and don't miss the outdoor pool - one thing that is not right in the centre, you might need a car for that.

There were some wonderful tourist points: old castle ruins, nice wooden path around the lake. I was surprised by extra large music hall, looking inappropriate for a small town. Quite unpleasant were dirty roads around block of flats.

I have been to Rezekne three times, always as an overnight...
I have been to Rezekne three times, always as an overnight stop before moving on to Riga, Vilnius or Moscow. Its location makes it convenient for a night's sleep, and the city offer some decent restaurants and a countriside setting.
There city is small, but you have good markets (Rimi is probably the best), a good brewhouse (Iggi) and a nice restaurant (Marijas Kafija).
I jae only visited the city in winter, but I would expect there to be more things to do in the summer.

Coming from a Westeuropean country it is interesting to experience how life is now in a (former) Easteuropean country.
Except from the hotel, almost nobody we met in shops and so on spoke English at all but everybody was very friendly so we had no problems.
It is difficult to find public toilets except from the train station Rezekne 2.

Small town with safe and friendly environment.
Small town with safe and friendly environment. Can provide and historical sightseeing, and entertainment, nice local cuisine at Maria's restaurant, an amazing fitness complex with gym and ice rink. They have local theatre . Also art exhibitions run on regular basis, or at local art college you can pick up great art pieces for a very good price . Summer time can offer festivals at festival park ,some sunbathing by lakes ,or at open swimming pool at Restart hotel .

We stayed for 1 night and this hotel is perfect for such short stays. We enjoyed the view of the city from the 7th floor and the bed - it was comfortable and big enough for the 2 of us. We also appreciated the included kettle and fast WiFi internet connection.

The apartment has everything you need for a short stay. It is clean, freshly renovated and the attention to detail is truly outstanding. The host is very sincere and easy to communicate with. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip to Rezekne.

This is a new hotel built to a very high standard. Generous comfortable rooms and nice spacious public areas with a good bar and restaurant. We'll located for the sports facilities.
