10 years ago when I first came to Star Dojran was a great...
10 years ago when I first came to Star Dojran was a great place, nice food, great music, pleasant atmosphere, nice people. Now it's expensive (same price as in Bulgaria), food is not as good anymore, not a pleasant stay for more than a night. People tend to be more arrogant , a lot of cars on the walking areas and you have to walk on the street. Far more TIRs on the Tito road heading towards the nearest Steel Factory (driving like crazy). Became a tourist trap, waiting for money to come in. At least the lake is there, the view , the water, the overall feel, but not the same place.

Good place to stay one night between Greece and Serbia trip,...
Good place to stay one night between Greece and Serbia trip, you can eat good (reccomend FukTak restoraunt) and you can swim in the lake. Also near the lake there is a nice park to walk through and the parking is easy to find (on some places you need to pay for it in some periods).

The Star Dojran is perfect place to make stop over night...
The Star Dojran is perfect place to make stop over night during long trips to Greece.
I didn't have too much time to walk around, but that what I saw, looks like Star Dojran is smale pretty place but not sure how it would be with longer stay there.

Star Dojran is a peaceful and relaxing commune on the shores...
Star Dojran is a peaceful and relaxing commune on the shores of Lake Dojran, built on the remaining on the destroyed city of Dojran during World War I. The commune offers everything you can expect from a small touristic spot, great climate, lake views, a modest beach, several cheap but good bars and restaurants, and great hiking trails up the mountains. It's a perfect spot for a weekend getaway with family and friends, especially if you are looking for a place that's a bit off the grid and not as touristic as Ohrid Lake. Additional value are the cheap prices, super friendly locals with great English, the peaceful and quiet evenings, and the warm summerish weather up until the middle of November. And let's not forget it's proximity to other towns in the area, the city of Strumica, and Greece - which all makes Dojran a great place even for a longer stay, especially if you are with a car.

One day is really enough to explore Dojran.
One day is really enough to explore Dojran. There are few fish restaurants near the lake. There are beaches but most of the people are just sunbathing. The lake doesn't look clean and I guess that is the main reason why there are just few people swimming in the lake.
Perfect for overnight stay if you travel to Greece as there is a nearby border crossing. Other than that, not really much to see.

Not much to see really, The lake is dirty and I would not recommend swimming although there are a few beaches. There are a few restaurants with fair prices. The road is busy overnight as there is a border cross nearby.

A really lovely place to stay! The apartment was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The location is great, on the main street in Star Dojran, with a parking on-site. The owners are very nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay!
