United StatesThis hotel is fantastic, new, and very clean. The staff is amazing and very helpful. This place is close to many restaurants and the artisanal fish market (a must-see!). I saw some of the other hotels in Nouadhibou, but they are pale in comparison to Hotel Delphin.

We were positively surprised by the city.
We were positively surprised by the city. It is a proper working town, not very touristy but interesting for travellers who like authentic places. There are quite some restaurants, coffee shops, a calm vibe with many people out in the streets in the evenings. A trip to Cap Blanc is a must-do: cliff, beautiful beach and birdlife (200 MRU entrance fee per person, paid to a military guy stationed in the parc). We got a taxi to take us for 200,000 MRU (appr. 40 Euros), it's about one hour one way on dirt roads, crossing the iron ore train tracks and the city's industries.

Not a great deal to do.
Not a great deal to do. Trying to get round requires walking or using a shared-taxi. Most sites of tourist interest are outside of the town and require a private transport to reach and private taxis will charge a lot (too much) money. Many banks/ATMs and restaurants are closed on Sundays.
First visit: 1 night to get 'my legs' was enough.
Second visit: 1 night to clean-up, visit the fishing harbour and rest before onward transport was enough for my second visit.
If there was an easier, more reasonable way to visit the near-ish national parks I would stay longer, but without one's own transport, this become restrictive and there is only half-day's worth of sites to see.
