We loved the cottage. It felt like we were in our own little oasis. It was lovely sitting on the very private deck- so peaceful. The Church Bistro and Restaurant was a great place to eat. The food was delicious. The accommodation was also well placed to walk to the shuttle next door to get up to Cathedral Cove. We were able to use the shovels and towels provided for a donation to use at Hot Water Beach. It was a great place to visit at sunrise. The Church is also an easy walk to the shopping village if you need any supplies, a coffee, icecream or the local brewery.

Our family had a wonderful stay here. The house was clean, had everything you could ever need for your stay and on top of that, the owners were amazing people. Very nice hostel right in the small and cute Hahei town, walking distance to the stunning Hahei beach, and great to start from to hike to Cathedral Cove (just 40 min). Very nice wooden room with super comfortable bed and bed linen, clean shared bathroom, spacious and welcoming shared kitchen and living room. Very convenient parking right in front of the room. Possibility to do laundry but you’ll need NDZ cash. The staff is really nice and helpful too. I loved the birds in the morning! Will stay here again next time!

NIce little town which has a lovely beach.

NIce little town which has a lovely beach. A couple of places to hire kayaks also boat trips leave from here. Nice cafe's. We ate at The Church Bistro which was very nice, the more expensive one, but good food. Also ate at The Pour House, a pub/restaurant selling mainly pizza but has a good vibe, seating inside and out. Good walks and of course a must see is Cathedral Cove. A walk takes about 20 minutes before you start the walk to the Cove which is another 20 minutes or catch the bus, goes every 30 mins. Cost $15 return.

Unfortunately, I only arrived fairly late in the afternoon...

Unfortunately, I only arrived fairly late in the afternoon and had to leave early again the next morning so I did not end up spending much time in Hahei this time. However, I did notice that the carpark for Cathedral Cove had been moved to the outskirts of town, which is a good thing. I vividly remember the old carpark, closer to the walkway and it was always a nightmare both for visitors and more likely the locals to get up there and find a park. So this is definatley a good move. Also, I noticed lots more shops and places to eat. I will definatley be back for longer next time.

A relaxed seaside village with good access to local attractions such as Cathedral Cove. A very good little supermarket and nearby cafes and bar ( serving simple meals such as Pizza) made it easy to enjoy this picturesque village.

Hahei is such a pretty beach and the water was super clear.

Hahei is such a pretty beach and the water was super clear. We walked up Pah Hill to enjoy the super view along the coast. Try having an early morning swim as the sun comes up. Of course everyone goes over to Cathedral Cove but Hahei is just as nice. Lots of Cafe and restaurant food and drinks to enjoy.

Hahei is beautiful.

Hahei is beautiful. Hahei beach is so beautiful as is Hot Water Beach. If I could I would return to Hahei time and time again. The little town of Hahei has what you need, a small general store, liquor store and restaurants. If you need a big grocery shop, you need to go in Whitianga which is a long drive around (45 minutes to an hour) or one can go by ferry at Cooks Bay and walk into town for a bigger shop, but be sure to have a trolley bag to carry your groceries. I would say that is the only disadvantage to Hahei,

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay.

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay. Hahei has a beautiful beach and you are also very close to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water beach so it’s a great location. Both these spots are a must when you are visiting Hahei. We walked to Cathedral Cove from our apartment. It took us about 40 min and is a pretty steep incline for the first half of the walk but worth it for the views. We took the water taxi back from the cove to Hahei which was a quick but very fun trip. Hot Water beach is a unique experience. Take your shovel and be sure to check when low tide is before you make the trip over there. The Pour House in Hahei is a great spot to sit and have a drink outside. Their pizzas and fish & chips are also great. There are several other spots for breakfast and coffee too that are also great.

Apartment is spotless, spacious and has anything that one needs for a short and even for a longer stay. Location is perfect: just a few minutes from the gorgeous Hahei beach and from quite a few restaurants and cafes (in spite of its small size, options are pretty good in Hahei). Host is just delightful: she offered to drive us to the starting point of the Cathedral Cove trail and when we left a jacket in the flat after check-out she was super helpful, and responsive, so that we could have it back promptly.

We had a great stay here! The location was amazing! It was close to cafes, shops and restaurants. Also only a five minute walk to Hahei beach. Off street parking was really handy. Perfect location for a stay in Hahei. The guest house itself was really good! Had all the amenities you could need. Great communication from the hosts who were super friendly and had great recommendations for exploring the area. Will definitely be using this accomodation again!

My experience ar Tatahi Cove was great! I arrived nearly three hours early to check in after an exhausting overnight flight, the staff was so nice to prepare the room early for me and they allowed me to check in 2.5h early! Everyone was very nice, the room and area the Hotel is built on is just beautiful!
