The best staff we’ve ever experienced, super pro and friendly! The location is amazing, you can have a stroll to the beautiful forest through the lovely village and a river, and the path is good for little kids. Perfectly quiet place, beautiful surroundings (the waterfall 🤍), delicious food, great spa. Want to be back!

Loriga is such a characterful mountain village with everything you need for a short stay. Its location in the Serra da Estrela is perfect for hiking, as well as swimming in its fabulous praia fluvial. It has plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars etc. It's very steep though and much of it is not easily accessible by car. Try O Solar restaurant and also O Vicente...both serve excellent food.

Loriga is a gorgeous town, not unlike many in the area of the Serra da Estrela. What sets it apart is a great river beach (praia fluvial); its closeness to the Parque da Serra da Estrela, an easy 20-minute drive; and it's less busy than other more popular towns. Driving through Loriga's streets can be a daunting experience if you are not used to very narrow streets and steep slopes. If you plan on staying try to find lodging close to the main road.

Nestled in a stunning valley, it's often referred to as the "Portuguese Switzerland" because of its breathtaking mountain views and charming atmosphere. The village has so much to offer—crystal-clear natural pools, perfect for a refreshing swim in the summer, and scenic hiking trails that showcase the beauty of the region year-round. Walking through Loriga's narrow streets, you can feel its rich history and unique character. The traditional stone houses and friendly locals make it feel like stepping back in time. Plus, the local food is incredible—don’t miss out on trying the regional cheeses and sausages! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Loriga is a must-visit. It’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression!
