St Leu has everything you need a short walk from the...
St Leu has everything you need a short walk from the apartment. There is an excellent bus service. There are so many local and international restaurants. The bakeries are all excellent. There is an artisan market area open most days with local crafts. I ate at many of the places and couldn't fault the food or service. All of St Leu is easy to walk around with interesting buildings, churches and the wonderful promenade.

Saint Leu is the best choice for exploring the western part...
Saint Leu is the best choice for exploring the western part of the island.
It has a lagoon, which means you can swim freely and not be afraid of shark attacks.
The town has nice shops, it is small, so you can explore it on foot.
On Saturday mornings there is a market by the sea, which is worth visiting.
Surfers have constant waves, but you need to be careful, as shark encounters are known.
The salt museum is nearby, you can quickly reach the capital St. Denis and also the south, as this part of the island is well connected by the new motorway. A good starting point for visiting Cilaos.
To explore Mafate and Salizie, it is better to arrange an overnight stay on the east coast, otherwise you will lose too much time and daylight, which is only 11 hours anyway.

The breakfast was freshly and home-made and the view over the ocean was magnificent.
The garden is well maintained and beautiful.
The property has a swimming pool and some relax areas.
For the hosts this family run hotel is more than just a business. You feel always welcomed and the hosts take care of you from the very first moment till check-out and beyond.
