Although small, this was one of the best designed and decorated bandb’s we’ve stayed at. Really well equipped and imaginatively laid out! Would totally recommend, and would stay here again if we return to the area.

I loved the upper patio, i enjoyed most of my nights looking at the stars. I also loved how i wake up in the morning and see the mountains in front of me. Its a great location as its near the town and has nice view of the sky.

Alpine is right at the junction point on HW 90 and TX 118, which is the north door to Big Bend area. The altitude is around 4000ft, the weather is cool and dry, there are mounts around. It is a very beautiful city.

Great place to stay for long weekend, breathtaking scenery...

Great place to stay for long weekend, breathtaking scenery and a short drive away from a gorgeous starry sky without light pollution. Unfortunately, unless you find rural accommodation Alpine has lots of light pollution, so don’t expect pitch black or stars on your back door. Not one for those looking to party, bar scene is pretty tame and laid back- small town singers and good food. Meals at bars or restaurants in the walkable area are designed for tourists- 14 dollar burgers (expensive) with no sides included. No clubs. Hiking is accessible as it is close to brazos bend park. A day walk around the town will have you bored after about 5h (just a classic movie theater, IG worthy cowboy stores and restaurants/diners/bakerys). Recommend 1 or 2 days to hike and 1 day to relax and wander the town. Town is walkable- only drove to the rental house and walked the rest. The rental houses in the area tend to be cheap but quite nice. Locals are welcoming and happy to have tourists around.

Alpine, Texas is a very nice small city in West Texas.

Alpine, Texas is a very nice small city in West Texas. From this city, you can visit several area attractions, including Big Bend National Park. There are several good restaurants and food trucks in the city also.

Alpine offers hotels and restaurants to make day trips to Big Bend National Park, the McDonald Observatory and Fort Davis. We did not spend much time in the town itself other than having dinner and getting gas.

It is pretty far from Big Bend National Park and there is really nothing in between so your vehicle needs to be in top notch shape and always keep you gas tank full because you never know when you will find a gas station. Take time to plan ahead what you will be eating and drinking.

Touristy small town with a lot of varied personalities.

Touristy small town with a lot of varied personalities. It's a gateway to Big Bend Natl Park. I guess there's a lot of festivals of various types throughout the year there that would be fun. Not far from the mountains I didn't know were in W. Texas. I will go back to the area seeing as how I want to explore Big Bend, don't know if I'd choose Alpine as a destination, I'd try other locations.

Far too expensive for the quality. It was self check-in (some other customers had trouble getting their keys & no one from the hotel was answering their phones). Everything needs upgrading, the rooms are small, the bathroom tiny and the WiFi poor. I was very disappointed. If it had been cheap I would have been prepared to put up with it but for the price it was bad value and I'm amazed by the other excellent reviews I'd read as I can't agree with them.

The house is located in a quiet residential area with almost no noise at all. Since you have the whole house, there is nobody around to make noise. There were ample amounts of good liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner. They have a full-size fridge. Alpine is a nice town with quite some good food and a nice visitor center.
