Loved the cabin.
Loved the cabin. The owners really did put a lot of thought into what was available. The appliances were very nice and clean. Would recommend to anyone with family members. The downstairs playroom was a great touch.

Great location on Sugar Mountain, with beautiful mountain...
Great location on Sugar Mountain, with beautiful mountain and valley views. The unit was cozy, spacious and had everything we needed. There was a functional wood burning fireplace, perfect for cold, winter nights. It was was pleasant surprisee, though I was unprrpared not having wood (I didn't inquire if wood is available onsite). The in-unit dryer is very helpful for wet ski clothing. Finally after a day on the slopes, the dry sauna and jacuzzi are very relaxing. The staff was pleasant. There's ice skating and tubing available minutes away at the bottom of the hill. On weekends, I suggest making advance dining reservations in downtown, Banner Elk. We dined at Puerto Nuevo across the street, no reservation needed, which was quick, tasty and loved the salsa bar! I look forward to my next trip!

I was happy to find a place that I could have my dog with me...
I was happy to find a place that I could have my dog with me! It was very clean! Easy to access from the highway. Also, a little road noise because it was so close. Bring your own sheets. This unit was very clean, but the sheets were rough and the mattress was thin. Stocked well with bright white towels and plenty of paper goods. It is priced right and I was so happy to have my dog with me! She loved it! I didn't light the fireplace, but if I was there earlier each evening, I would have liked to. I was staying for work! NO noise from other people or dogs...just the road noise early each morning. NO pet odors, though I did have to make sure I offered to take her out. She smelled. But again....pet lovers...it is VERY HARD to find any place within 30 minutes of Blowing Rock you can have your pet with you.

This is a beautiful cabin in a perfect location with outstanding mountain views. We were there for the Grandfather Mountain Highland games for 4 days. It had everything we needed and convenient to everything we needed.

I loved the scenic views around the property.
I loved the scenic views around the property. I booked it specifically for the changing foliage plus hiking the local trails. Other than being accustomed to the winding mountain roads, I highly recommend The Highlands!

The house was wonderful, spacious, with all the amenities. 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain and 20 minutes from Beech Mountain. We were with a child and felt at home. The only inconvenience is a fixed shower head, it is not convenient to wash a child. But this is a feature of almost all American hotels. There is a grocery store nearby.

Everything was great. I've stayed here before, and each time is amazing. The staff is friendly and professional with great customer service. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the beds provide a good night's rest. I enjoy staying at this hotel whenever I travel to Banner Elk.
