Taking a walk around Tomahawk Lake; other than that, unless you enjoyed drinking and hanging out at pubs, there was nothing about Black Mountain enjoyable; no fun activities for couples, again, unless you were drinking - and we don't drink!

Such a nice town that a lot to offer.

Such a nice town that a lot to offer. Came for a music event at Pisgah Brewhouse and stayed to explore the waterfalls and hiking in the area. There's just so much to do in this area, I'll have to come back soon. There are more eating options that you can do in one visit too. Yes, there are still some closed roads, mainly up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but don't let that slow you down. Visited Little Switzerland and the NC mineral museum in Emerald Village, Tom's Creek waterfall, Linville and Crabtree falls. Just a stunningly beautiful area.

Black Mountain was the perfect long-weekend getaway.

Black Mountain was the perfect long-weekend getaway. We loved the local shops and restaurants. Every meal we ate was amazing, and we didn't even try all the places we wanted to! It was close enough to all of the hikes we wanted, and just down the road from Asheville. We loved that we were able to leave our car at the hotel and walk to every shop and restaurant we wanted. There were events and live music every night that we were in town.

Lots of little stores for those who like to shop.

Lots of little stores for those who like to shop. Nice choices for eateries. Black Mountain Bistro offered good choices - mountain trout was excellent as was the pork chop. Be prepared to wait for food to be delivered - places were very busy & staff were doing their best to accommodate everyone. Lunch at the Trailhead was delicious.

Black Mountain is like a magical little town that if filled with great shops filled with the wares of local artisans (various prints, pottery, jewelry, clothing, baked goods, etc.) and the book store at the bottom of the hill on the corner of Cherry Street is what every bookstore should be! The children's section is amazing, the local author section is revealing, and the assortment of other books and assorted giftware, coffees, and all is so tempting! I could have stayed there much longer as well! Some of the shops are not open every day (which I understand) but it does make it difficult for those who are only there for a limited time over the weekend. So check out times when planning a trip in case there's some place you really want to eat or shop to ensure they are in fact going to be open. Great ice cream at The Hop. My Father's Pizza, Veranda Cafe, and Cousins Cuban Cafe were amazing! Places to avoid (just kidding, sorta) is Hey Hey Cupcake (OMG the cupcakes!), The Hop (ice cream) and Kilwin's (CHOCOLATE!). Like I said, places to avoid...if only I had! :-) Enjoy the stroll up and down the streets, make sure to go into the shops and shop!, sit in the rocking chairs outside the shops and eat a bite or two of the treats you decide to indulge in and just breathe and enjoy the weather, the people, the pets, and time spent with those you love best and most!

Black Mountain is a beautiful small town with lots of small stores, restaurants and eateries, gorgeous hiking trails for all levels of fitness - we loved it. Taco Billy's serves yummy breakfast tacos, with vegetarian options. The Veranda serves delicious sandwiches, My Father's Pizza makes great Pizzas. I didn't enjoy the food at "Trailhead" (I had the trout filet. the fish was tasty and fresh, everything else served with it was "meh").

Excellent location just outside of Black Mountain. Quiet location with easy access to Black Mountain and area. Beautiful grounds and 200-year-old heritage trees. History of this 200-year-old ex-stagecoach stop. Simple but comfortable with quite a bit of simple art deco period furnishings and art.
