Had to work in the area for a couple of days.

Had to work in the area for a couple of days. There were things for me to do on breaks which isn't always true in a small town. Visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and Footprints Memorial. Explored a graveyard with gravestones from the 1700s.

Understanding that it's a very small town and that you'll have to travel a bit for food or entertainment, my trip was great. My hotel was a bummer and just needed to be tolerated. Luckily I won't stay there in the future so future visits will be much more enjoyable. There were 2 hotels close by...pick one of those instead!

On a two week road trip visiting friends and family.

On a two week road trip visiting friends and family. We would guestimate the distance we were willing to travel during the early afternoon, and used Booking.com to locate hotels in that area. We found this highly recommended Quality Inn and booked a room. Arrived 6 hours later to find a clean, older facility that was in very good condition. In fact, the only thing I took issue with was something the facility operators have little control over: the noise deadening between the rooms is poor, allowing us to hear the folks in the next room conversing. Otherwise, I have absolutely no issues with anything here. Recommended! Just... bring ear plus.

We came to see a Country Music show at the Civic Center and...

We came to see a Country Music show at the Civic Center and visit the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. We enjoyed them both so much, that we plan to come back to the show next year and plan to return to the museum in a month or so (to finish seeing all the displays that we missed). And the folks were so very friendly. Also, ate dinner at the Texas Tea Room and the food was very good. All in all, we had a great time in Carthage.

Carthage is perfectly situated halfway between Central Arkansas and the Port of Galveston for those driving in for cruise ships. This hotel has great rates (a fraction of what we would have paid had we driven straight into the Houston or Galveston area). It also has a very consistent, quality brand. We were pleased with the size of the room, furnishings, and the pillows. My husband had a neck injury many years ago. It is hard for him to sleep sometimes. He was comfortable, which made me relax and sleep well.

Easy, convenient location. Very clean and quiet hotel. Room was very nice size and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was also good with plenty of variety.
