Bit of confusion on getting into the type of room I booked, trouble was totally on bookings end. Hotel was super fast and courteous about fixing the issue. Great room, clean and quiet. If your staying in Mattoon for the night you won't be disappointed.

We went for family event. Not a lot of time to explore.

We went for family event. Not a lot of time to explore. Need to return for longer visit. Ate at Fujiyama, hibachi, was good. Ate at Joey's a small place, food was really good, staff was very good. Had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and it was good, service good, speed of dinnervwas a bit slow. We are not a young couple.

I mentioned the Lincoln Douglas debate site and the home of...

I mentioned the Lincoln Douglas debate site and the home of Lincoln's father and stepmother in my review. The were fascinating. I can also add that the Brickhouse bar and grill (steakhouse), Lincoln Garden (first class family restaurant), Paglia's pizza (thin and thick) and Los Postrillos (mexican) were good and great value for a person used to Chicago prices. In addition Casey, Ill 20miles south boasts the biggest (of anything) . Some were bigger than others but a fun 15 -30 minutes.
