It had a great location and was both cheerful and peaceful at the same time. The renovations look great and our room was very clean and smelled great - so new. I really enjoyed the balcony with chairs and the waterfront view. Also the fireplace in the lobby. When we had to check out early to try to go catch the eclipse, Kody followed up and emailed me my receipt when he said he would.

The interior could be updated like the bedding and furniture. But the front office staff was awesome . She went out of her way to accommodate me. Early check in . Free continental breakfast , coffee , juices , water offered after noon . The rooms were very spacious. I would definitely stay again!

We were traveling with a baby and made it to town early, we were able to check in a little earlier- was just so nice and helped us a lot! So grateful. We did break a lamp setting up a pack and play but the property was so understanding and offered just for us to pay for the lamp. They made traveling and fixing damages so easy. Second time we stayed with them and will do it again next year! Without breaking a lamp this time..

We loved that the house was dog friendly and on a quiet street that allowed us to walk our dogs around the neighborhood. We liked that the location was convenient to Safeway and Fred Meyer and other downtown businesses. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with basics for eating and cooking and it was nice to have a washer and dryer. Also there were several streaming options on the tv.

Charleston is a quiet, mostly fishing community.

Charleston is a quiet, mostly fishing community. It is close to some really nice beaches in a not crowded portion of the Oregon Coast. Charleston is close to many beaches and state parks for you enjoyment.

Regrettably I didn’t spend much time in Charleston.

Regrettably I didn’t spend much time in Charleston. I deliberately booked this hotel to see the village and it is lovely. I did not expect the homeless and the property as close to the water to be as run down as it was. Clearly the $ benefit of waterfront property hasn’t hit Coos Bay, yet. The hotel was in a good spot, for sportsmen, it is perfect.

Charleston has a couple of charter fishing boats.

Charleston has a couple of charter fishing boats. And an entire fleet of commercial fishing boats. I would think that it would be impossible to get anything other than a fresh fish meal here. Unfortunately, one establishment the Portside restaurant. Served frozen crab in my meal. Despite there being an entire fleet of fishing boats not more than 500 feet away

For the price it was good . Very clean staff was very friendly. Older style room the bed could have been bigger thought it was a queen it was a double but comfortable. Had everything we needed . Breakfast was just a few pastries and bananas and apples .But again for the price it was something I would not have been able to afford a hotel on a holiday weekend if they jacked up there prices like everyone else.

It was definitely a place for fishermen. Guys were in the parking lot with their catch and crab pots ready to cook. Room was just fair, worn and older but clean. Staff was nice. Price was too high for the property! It was close to the beach and exit to the bay but industrial area.

I requested an early arrival and was met with extreme kindness and they accomodated me quickly and politely. Super friendly people working there. Housekeeping was polite as well. It's located near the docks in Charleston and only a few minutes drive to the beach.

Captain John's is located next to the Charleston boat ramp which is perfect for a jumping off spot for boaters in Coos Bay. Upon return you can use their fish cleaning station which has everything you need.
