Clayton as a focal point of a trip may not be enough.

Clayton as a focal point of a trip may not be enough. Clayton as a local to go visit around North GA and Western North Carolina is just about perfect. Clayton has quite a few decent restaurants some climb into the good/very good range. From Clayton it is an easy drive to quite a few wineries; hiking trails; trout fishing streams; and unique scenery. So, don't come to Clayton for just Clayton unless you want to have a relaxed weekend. Come to Clayton for all the amazing things around Clayton. Eat breakfast at the Rusty Bike; go tour the amazing Foxfire museum; drive up to The Vineyard at High Holly and see their beautiful grounds or ask the guy at Reeve's Hardware in the fly shop where you find big rainbow trout.

Clayton was a great mountain town to base our "operation"...

Clayton was a great mountain town to base our "operation" from; we were able to go out and see Tallulah Gorge and we tried for Minnehaha falls, but were stuck with some construction on the single road into there.

Charming, quiet, nature, outstanding food, and friendly. Beautiful town without the many tourist gimmicks. If you enjoy being outdoors, together, safely walking with loved ones without crowds then this is your place.

Nice town , found places I would like to shop off the main...

Nice town , found places I would like to shop off the main road. Did get to shop at the Honey store and visited the Goats on the roof. It is under reconstruction and plans to be open sometime in November. They let us visit the goats in back, the pen was decorated so cute with colorful shelters. Enjoyed our two days there.

love this town in the mountains of Georgia.. nice shops, great place to stay if you plan going to Helen just a short drive, or rafting the Chattooga we did with Wildwater company... recommend the Hush great Cuban cuisine....

We love the Clayton area, little bit of city, whole lot of mountains. There are some really nice little restaurants to eat at, Mountain Grill has the most wonderful cinnamon rolls and Ms. Sue is a true treasure. You might wait a bit but it's so worth it!! We love the surrounding area antique stores & flea markets. Osage Market is awesome and we never come through without going to Culpeppers Salvage in Otto, NC, such a cool place. Love just driving in the mountains and seeing the views, etc. I'd move to Rabun Co. if I could.

Well maintained and clean with great breakfast, perfect for a stop over on route. However, the best part of the stay was Sunny, who was working reception. He would be a great addition to any 5 star hotel anywhere in the world.

Great location, across from Clayton off WarWoman Rd. Great short little hikes with waterfalls. The house is cozy, Love the wrap around porch, with a swings too. We diffently would book this place again.
