The staff and hotel were great. We could not have asked for a better experience. We arrived for our honeymoon to a room upgrade. There were not many people when we stayed so we didn't have to wait for anything. The restaurant was great. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff was wonderful. We will definitely return. We made day trips to Mt Rushmore, Custer, Badlands, and Devils Tower.

Deadwood was awesome. I learned a lot and had fun too.

Deadwood was awesome. I learned a lot and had fun too. I'll definitely be back, but I won't stay at the Miners Hotel again. The Days of 76 Rodeo is one of my favorites and I've been to several rodeos already this year.

We were there from lunch time to just overnight.

We were there from lunch time to just overnight. It was just the right amount of time for us. Any longer would probably have been too long. We did spend the night in Bullock's Hotel. So cool. Granted, we didn't do any museums and now I think we should, but it was mainly touristy stores and so many casinos. We have 2 kids under 21 and most places had "no one under 21 allowed" signs. It was fun to walk the main street. We saw one street show, but frankly, the heat wave was so bad, we just wanted to be in the ac. Went to Cielo Rojo Mexican for dinner. It was great! The margarita was delicious! Everyone loved their meals.

We loved Deadwood, we loved the trolley that came by the hotel and took us into town so we didn't have to drive or pay for parking. The main strip in Deadwood is a must see, everything on there, stores, restaurants, bars and casinos. Most of the employees were super helpful and super friendly. Only thing I can say is if you need a taxi/shuttle while in Deadwood area, confirm the pricing and the pickup/delivery. We reserved a taxi for airport transfer to be told one price over the phone to another later on and than once we landed was informed they could not do the return pick up back to the airport. We eventually found another company, but we did find out that most taxi's don't work early morning shifts.

Deadwood seemed like a great little town. it was a start/stop location for accessing the Mickelson trail for us, so didn't get to spend enough time in the city to expore it. we did go to the mining museum in Lead which I would highly recommend.

It's a very quaint town with a lot of history. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Moriah cemetery and again the history of some of the residents. I think 3 full days is what someone would need to really enjoy the town. I hope to visit again.

An old school hotel that has been decently maintained by the current owner/staff. Reasonable sound proofing to avoid the motorcycle/car traffic on what is the main route to Lead, SD. While we did not go to the restaurant, it appeared to be an orderly, clean local place that served decently priced fare. Would recommend for those that are coming to the area for DUNE work in Lead, SD for brief or week long stays.

The location is perfect, right in the center of Deadwood, with everything within walking distance. Having free parking included was also a big plus.
