Decatur, AL is a very small town and easy to navigate that sits along the beautiful Tennessee River. It has three airports that are within a couple of hours drive of each other too to accommodate our family's arrivals.
We stayed at this hotel based on a family member's recommendation because of its location to a family event. It was a very good location to other restaurants and businesses as well.
Decatur has a small town and diverse atmosphere, which I was surprised to see. Our short stay only gave us time to gather together for our planned event at the Magnolia Room, a downtown venue which was wonderful. Otherwise, we caught quick bites at popular chain restaurants to accommodate the group's tastes.
I would like to return to visit more of the tourist spots and local restaurants.

We had never been to Decatur before but chose it as a good...
We had never been to Decatur before but chose it as a good stopover point on our road trip home from the beach. We new Big Bob Gibson's BBQ was there and figured that was a good reason to choose Decatur. What we found was a very well done downtown area with lots of restaurants and shops and lots of people having a good time! The area was very safe, clean, and walkable. There was also an event going on at the arts center that unfortunately was rained out later. We will be making this a regular stop.

I really enjoyed going to visit, had a family reunion. It was really nice out there. We enjoyed going to the water park. Kinda expensive but it was worth it for the most part. I would definitely go back. While Decatur was fun, the motel sucked. Gave our reserved rooms to someone else. With me being disabled I was forced to either climb the stairs to the 2nd floor or find somewhere else to go. Then found unsafe items in the couch bed that my minor child slept in.

Lots of variety in eateries by the city hall campus. Lovely park like grounds. One problem is the very active commercial train. It can hold you up for a while… like more than 15 minutes waiting time behind the tracks.

We were only a overnight stay half way on our trip home.
We were only a overnight stay half way on our trip home. We almost slept in our car the conditions of the room were so bad. It was the worst. Not just old but dirty and smelly and the bathroom door was falling off. We wouldn't sit in the chairs because the dirt and stains were so bad. If we hadn't been desperate from driving 11 hrs we would have left.

I couldn't be more pleased with the condition of the property or the responsiveness of the staff. I inadvertently left some clothing in a drawer in the room and the hotel went out of their way to get it back to me in just 4 days. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is one of the cleanest I have stayed in. Thank You....

I really enjoyed my stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Decatur.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok. I will definitely stay there again next time. .

This is a brand new hotel on a new development, close to food choices. The hotel has a great little pool and offers everything you need for a stopover. Super friendly staff as well, happy to offer area recomendations.
