We loved everything about our stay at Country Road Cabins! My husband and I stayed in "Almost Heaven" which was perfect for us. It was the very last cabin, very secluded and absolutely adorable! The sheets on the bed were some of the softest sheets I've ever slept on. We loved the hot tub on the back deck and made use of the grill as well. It was a lovely stay, only wish we'd have booked an extra day or 2!

Our impression is that someday the park will be a lovely place to visit, but the infrastructure needs to be developed more for it to become a must-visit stop. The bridge was impressive, and the audio-guided driving tour down into the canyon under it was wonderful (we did it twice!). And we especially enjoyed the Grist Mill near Hawk's Nest -- a must see. The rest of what we saw wasn't much different from the drive there on non-interstate roads through eastern West Virginia. It's probably great for hikers, but for the rest of us, one day was enough.

excellent location adjacent to the New River Gorge NP -- tons of hiking, water activities in the river. It is somewhat remote, and the highway has a lot of steep up/down hills and a LOT of curves. Fun driving.

This is a very cool town!

This is a very cool town! Most of the restaurants struggle to accommodate the number of customers wanting to dine. For example, we tried twice to eat at Secret Sandwich Society (different times, two different days), but the hour and 1/2 wait was just too long for us. We did eat at Cathedral Cafe and Pints and Pies, which we enjoyed. We wanted to eat at Smokey’s on the Gorge, but they are only open three days per week.

Fayetteville is an interesting little tiny town (emphasis on tiny) right at the heart of all things New River Gorge. Range Finder coffee just opened a stand alone spot and is a great spot for real coffee or hit Wood Iron just up and across the street. If you're a mountain biker, Andy at New River bikes is about as solid as it gets and the shop is more than worth a visit. We struggled a little bit with the dining options without having to jump in the car and explore other towns near by but we'll definitely be back. Loved our time there. Eric and Natalie at the Morris Harvey house could not have been more helpful.

We wanted to stop for the one day and night, before traveling to our final destination. We got to see all that we wanted to see of the gorge plus more. Want to go back with our preteen grandkids, they would enjoy for sure.

I was so impressed with the comfortable beds, nice room, and updated bathroom, considering this is an old, remodeled property. Breakfast was much better than most hotel meals. The front desk staff and cleaning staff went above and beyond my expectations. They led me to explore under the bridge, something I would have missed. They located and returned my lost phone charger. The location was perfect, just down the road from New River Gorge bridge.

Great kitchen - nice pots/pans, utensils, etc . Loved the record player and nice collection of records. We also enjoyed the board games and the fire pit area in backyard. Souvenir water bottles were definitely a nice touch. Perfect location to the NRG NP, hiking trails, and several great restaurants in the little town of Fayetteville. We were also able to see fourth of july fireworks from the backyard.

Excellent Location & Atmosphere: The property sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a beautiful, wooded area. It feels very peaceful and close to nature. House Layout: The overall design of the house is great. The layout is nice, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the kitchen is decently stocked and functional.

The hotel is perfectly located for visiting the New River Gorge National Park. The facility had everything we required and the team were accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed eating at the onsite Elliot's restaurant and again were made very welcome. The room was clean and functional.
