Fergus Falls offers great food, history, culture and shopping. We ate breakfast at Toast both mornings and had supper at Union Bar, the adjacent restaurant. We are foodies and we enjoyed the unique dishes they offered as well as the cocktails. There were other places in town that we wanted to try but found ourselves drawn back to this establishment because it offered so much. We shopped the Market next door and found some treasures. After biking the Central Lakes Trail, we hit up Outstate Brewing Company and sat along the river enjoying a beverage. They serve coffee starting at 7am as well. We walked the town and enjoyed the activity at the Farmer's Market Saturday morning. We were impressed with how much this community offered visitors, but also how active it was in general. We weren't expecting so much from a "small town". On our way out of town we drove by the Kirkbride(wow) and stopped by Falls Baking Company to pick up Monster Cookies for our granddaughter's soccer team later that day. We are coming back soon to explore more. We will be returning to The Mill Hotel for a longer visit. It was exceptional there.

Fergus Falls is a great place to visit, my mother has lived there for 24+ years and I always enjoy visiting. Most people out and about are friendly, especially when they hear you are a visitor. It has scenic beauty at certain times of year and is centrally located to other nearby towns. The perfect place for a getaway.

Late night dining in Fergus Falls is virtually non-existent. The only place to get a sit down meal after 9pm was Applebees (which is OK). We were only there one night, so it's difficult to say much about the town otherwise. The downtown area looked interesting, but was pretty much deserted at 9pm on a Friday night.
