LOVED the super-comfy mattress in the bedroom. The staff are VERY friendly, helpful & prompt. Liked the booklets & MAP of the island to help us navigate & see the sights! Loved how QUIET it was, & how respectful & quiet other guests were. Loved the huge breakfast & assortment of different food - way more than a Continental b’fast! Easy check in & check out. The clothes steamer we requested showed up minutes after we requested it!!

I have been to other beach towns.

I have been to other beach towns. There are plenty of restaurants and little shops to visit. I specially liked the fact there was plenty of free parking. Which most beach towns are using parking meters. I still don't believe there should be driving on the beach. I used to belong to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society in Melbourne Beach......Turtles and cars and trucks don't mix.

I love Fernandina Beach.

I love Fernandina Beach. It is a little out of the way, meaning it’s never super busy. If you are not staying at one of the hotels, parking can be an issue, so go early. We went to Fort Clinch for the first time this year, and it was fantastic. There are lots of trails, and you can find tons of shells on the beach. You can’t swim in certain areas, but it is still a beautiful place to visit. We also didn’t go into the museum this time, but will go next time. There are a bunch of great places to eat right on the beach. A few blocks away there is a great farmers market on Saturdays. The beach is also dog friendly, which can be a challenge to find a beach where dogs are allowed. Just go. I promise it won’t disappoint.

love the downtown area of Fernandina Beach, great...

love the downtown area of Fernandina Beach, great restaurants excellent area to walk around however they just started charging for parking on all the streets in the downtown area. I've been here many times and that is a big negative for visitors if you want to park for a short , less than 1 hr to visit a store or get a quick snack you are going to pay to park anywhere near. Very inconvenient.

Good food, wonderful beaches.

Good food, wonderful beaches. Did not like the fact that since last year the city has pay to park for all downtown parking places. Four hours for shopping and a meal was $9.00. We only went downtown once rather than our usual 3 times.

Lovely town. Expect to spend $$$ as tourism is huge.

Lovely town. Expect to spend $$$ as tourism is huge. Lots to do and see. Try to parks. Fort Clinch and the Amelia Island State Park are excellent places to fish. If you are a shell seeker/ shark's tooth hunter, Fort Clinch is the placeto go.

The beaches were nice and clean.

The beaches were nice and clean. The one near this hotel allowed cars to park on the beach which I didn't like. We liked the River boat ride with captain Kevin. He was knowlegdable and humorous. We learned a lot. We visited several nice antique shops but felt prices were steep. There are many nice clothing and gift shops. Good restaurants-we liked the Patio, Peppers, and one on 5th street that begins with J. We liked Fort Clinch and the History museum.
