We had never heard of Fort Payne, even though we live in...
We had never heard of Fort Payne, even though we live in southern Georgia. Our son is going to Asia on a missionary trip- and the mission is located in Mentone, Alabama. We traveled there to support him as he begins a new journey in life - and in the process we fell in love with the area.

Went to the Fort Payne High School football game Friday night for our 45th class reunion. They won. We ate at the Sante Fe Stake House-Wonderful rib eyes, and Applebee's twice.

I did not stay because when I got into the room and found cig burns in the bedspread and stained spots , the pillows were unacceptable to sleep on because stained pillows with precious wet circles on the pillows, then trash on shelf of inside refrig and bottom of bathtub was so stained I could not sit in it to take a bath so we cancelled our stay .

Everyone who knows me, knows that my heart belongs in Fort Payne, AL. The little town is so friendly and welcoming anytime I go there to visit. I have made a lot of friends because of my ties to the Super Group Alabama and this is their hometown. When I come down, about 2 to 3 times a year, I hate to leave. It feels like home. Lots of sites to see, natural beauty on Lookout Mountain, and the history that is packed in Fort Payne. You can't not visit the Alabama Fan Club every time you go there. The ladies at the Fan Club are amazing and you never know when one of the Alabama Band Members are going to walk through the door and visit with you for a little bit. There are many restaurants to visit for an amazing meal, little shops down town, and you can usually find some music to enjoy while there. To me, Fort Payne, AL is the best, down home, place to ever visit. Alabama sings the song "My Home's In Alabama" no matter where I lay my head. I leave a piece of my heart there every time I go. Went to the 17th June Jam 2023, got home this past Tuesday, and I am ready to go back now. See y'all again in July and September.

It was a lovely place, a great getaway from chaotic everyday life. The view was lovely. The place itself was also very clean. Highly recommend it and if we ever return to Fort Payne and cabin would be available, we will definitively book it.

Nice & Quiet, it was a comfortable stay. The pillows were substantial! Usually they are not. Pet friendly was what won me over. If your on the fence about staying here, just do it! You'll be glad you did.
