Galesburg appears to be a ding town.
Galesburg appears to be a ding town. Dirty with less than quality people walking around downtown. Downtown area is old and rundown. The Knox college area is almost bordering a slum area from the looks of the housing. Many of the stores downtown are in need of renovation and quality business. Galesburg may have been something in its day, but those days are obviously way past.

If you are going to go to Galesburg, you should like trains...
If you are going to go to Galesburg, you should like trains because there are plenty of them. Fortunately, they have built some additional viaducts and over passes on the main drags, so you don't get stopped as much as you used to. When there visit the coney Island restaurant. It is the oldest restaurant in town and, as you can guess by the name, it specializes in hotdogs. You can visit the Galesburg railroad museum. It is next to the railroad station. There is a park up where the two mainlines cross which is dedicated for train watching.

The room was bright, comfortable, and the mattress was wonderful. The housekeeping staff were always friendly and ready to help with any needs. The front desk staff were welcoming and accommodating. Never a cross look when my Grandsons kept losing their keycards! Getting around Galesburg was easy and there is a really good Mexican restaurant right across the street.
I would definitely use this facility again!

Went there to see family.
Left Galesburg many years ago for a good reason and never want to go back.
It has really gotten downhill.
I did visit Hardee's and Casey's and Hy-Vee gas station food was excellent in all places

Quaint hometown feel, lots of options to eat wide variety.
Quaint hometown feel, lots of options to eat wide variety. People were friendly and helpful. Stopped at the Landmark cafe & creperie. Community corner thrift store and Wordsmith bookstore. We enjoyed our visit and were left with a great first impression.

If you need a hotel to stay in while here, Stay at Baymont Inn and Suites!
The staff are amazing and it is so quiet and comfortable!!!

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and it was perfect just as the 1st time. The general manager and his staff are such kind and accommodating people! We have just booked yet another stay with them. Breakfast is basic but everything is there and the coffee is reallyyyy good.

the worst hotel I've ever slept in my whole life kicked me out at 8:00 in the morning I didn't even click on booking I did it didn't let me pay by card and wanted me to pay cash and kicked me out at 8:00 am I don't know why
