AustraliaEverything. Was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well maintained the room and front desk area was. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Price was right for a one night stay and location just off the interstate is away from all the other hotels...easy in and out and quiet. Easy access to netflex etc on tv...no maze to sort thru just to watch a bit of tv. Even received a copy pair of fuzzy socks as a departing gift!!

Did not stay, went to Hotel, they gave us a room in the back...
Did not stay, went to Hotel, they gave us a room in the back building(I think because we had our dog with us) the building and the room was very cold, and there was a distinct smell in both, we went back to the front desk to say we would not be staying, and they tried to offer us a different room, but it is too hard to change a first impression the person at the desk seemed very nice, but we went down the road to the Red Roof Inn where we had stayed before with no issues with our dog.

There was a McDonald's right outside the Hampton Inn hotel...
There was a McDonald's right outside the Hampton Inn hotel along with a BP gas station. Hillsville did not have any coffee establishments (Dunkin, Starbucks, Panera) so that was disappointing and not many choices for restaurants but the hotel we stayed at was great. For someone just passing through it was a good place.

I only spent a short time in Hillsville, but it was very beautiful there. Most of the people I met there were very nice. We ate dinner at Toasters Deli. What a great find! The sandwiches were delicious. My BLT had thick bacon, fresh tomato and lettuce and a wonderful sourdough bread. My husband had the American sub. We also had a snickerdoodle cookie that was warmed for us. Delicious! We for there only 30 minutes before they closed, but they welcomed us. The restaurant was also very clean.

Hillsville, the town was okay.
Hillsville, the town was okay. Only issue was the Motor Lodge. We had a nice meal at Fiddlers Restaurant. Enjoyed looking and riding up and the three main roads around, other than I-77. Drove down to Fancy Gap one day and over to Galax another. Very quiet area!

This is not a luxury hotel.
This is not a luxury hotel. I tried it once because of good reviews a few years back. It is dated but who cares. I just want a clean comfortable room with a refrig and micro and this is great. TV is great and good list of channels after a long drive. I have stayed here multiple times every year now while traveling. They try to do things the right way and it is good to see people trying to do things the right way.

The room was just what I expected.
The room was just what I expected. It was a clean place to lay my head at the end of the night. Yes it was a little old school and could use some updates, but that didn't bother me one bit. I was only staying the night.

Our stay in Holiday Inn Express Hillsville was just perfect! The hotel is listed as 2* hotel but in fact it was much nicer and more comfortable than many 4* hotels we visited. Modern design, spotless recently renovated rooms, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast made our short stay remarkable. definitely will be back!

Good location off the highway for a quick stay !!
Seems a bit of a rougher area but very safe at the hotel . The inn was nice, staff pleasant , decorated nice! They had a basket of nice rags for people to use for their motorbikes etc... small lobby with a small breakfast area. Cereal , toast , juice , coffee etc...

Easy peasy. We were passing through coming off the Blue Ridge parkway on our way south. This was a short stop but the hotel was just right. We could walk to a few places to eat (but i did drive to Walmart for something I needed - 7 mins away). Well-located, nice stop.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in, ever! Pee spots on the floor, mysterious stains on the comforter, Pubic hairs in the bathroom, and no food at the breakfast bar. Quality Inn should re-evaluate putting its name on this hotel venue.
