United StatesClean, easy check in. Helpful, kind staff. As often happens with online booking the date was incorrect, however the motel was very understanding and adjusted the dat to the evening we arrived.

United StatesIt was a clean and attractive room with very convenient parking. The bathroom was like new. There was a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. Good Wi-Fi and quiet environment.

United StatesOur room was spacious and quiet. The pool was large and not dingy and smelly despite it being indoors. The kids loved it after a long day of road-tripping. There were nice touches like decent chairs in the rooms and also outside of the rooms. Breakfast was good as far as ‘free’ hotel breakfasts go. We got the suite that had a king, two queens and a sofa bed and it was perfect.

John Day motel was spot on.
John Day motel was spot on. John Day was perfect location for visiting the Fossil Beds and Painted Hills. Dinner at the 1188 Brewery was excellent. We enjoyed our short stay (1 night and 1 day) immensely.

What a sweet spot! Comfortable & clean in an excellent, secluded location. The photos don’t do the outdoor space and the lake justice. Our three generation family had a great time using the house as home base to explore the three units of the John Day Fossil Beds and other nearby attractions, with plenty of relaxation time too. It was in the 90s every day which was perfect for paddleboarding and swimming in the lake.

Found this little motel on line, kind of as a last resort. Seemed like everyone I looked at will booked up. But I was surprised by how quiet and clean it was. Bonus was it was a great location to find some where to eat. Several places with in walking distance

It was terrific. Isolated and pretty surroundings yet close to the John Day attractions. There wasn't much the hosts hadn't thought of to make our stay homey and comfortable.
