My most favorite part of the hotel has got to be the beds. I love sleeping in the giant king beds they are so comfortable. We live close to downtown but when we want a staycation we always have and always will choose the citrus as our go to. The rooms are massive the views are so gorgeous and the new addition up top with the skylight bar makes this stay a 10/10. I felt like I was a princess in the top room with a partial view. In my opinion that is the best view to have!!!! Try the Citrus out, you will not regret it!!!

O' this town is a hidden treasure!

O' this town is a hidden treasure! It has so many interesting shops. The shops owners are very helpful and kind, The food! O' my goodness the food. We eat at several places and never had a bad meal or small portion sizes. The staff at east eatery were top notch and friendly. This is a must, must visit town,

Downtown area is very walkable with plenty of free parking. Plan ahead - we visited during off season so it was much less crowded. Shops are open generally from 10-5, many restaurants to choose from with a wide variety of food (some are closed on Mondays). If you take a boat tour to visit the canal, try to go on a weekday vs. weekend. We went on a Monday and there were very few boats on the canal. The guides actually had time to stop the boat and spend more time pointing out the many wildlife and nature features of the canal. Shop till you drop in the downtown area. So many unique and interesting stores to visit. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon and departed on Wednesday. Plenty of time for our visit.

Lots to do in the area. Good restaurants. Scenic boat tours. Various festivals and shows ...we went to the Japanese festival and the wooden boat show in March. Close to several beautiful Florida springs. Good shopping and trails.

Mount Dora is filled with charming shops, restaurants, and historic homes. With frequent festivals to enjoy, it is the perfect weekend getaway. Its 45-minute proximity to Orlando and all the attractions there makes Mount Dora a destination for an even longer stay. Some of the top restaurants, for which reservations are recommended, are The Goblin Market, 1921, and Pisces Rising. Maggie's Attic is a great little wine bar, and the Salted Fry is a great place to grab lunch. We've learned to wear comfortable shoes for lots of walking, including the downtown shops and restaurants, areas around the lake, such as the historic Lakeside Inn and the lighthouse and walking trails just south of downtown, and the charming historic district filled with interesting, well-preserved homes. Each time we go, we discover something new.

Mt Dora is so beautiful and enchanting!

Mt Dora is so beautiful and enchanting! I have only stayed at the Lakeside Inn on all my previous trips, but decided to change things up a bit this holiday season. On my recent stay on Christmas Eve, I decided to quarter myself at the Hairloom Inn. The location was so close to the main street, but just far enough away to be quiet. The property was beautiful and the room was nice, without being pretentious. On site parking g was a plus, considering how crowded the city gets. Christmas Eve was so amazing with plenty of action. Many places remained open, while others closed early. Pices Rising, 1921, and the Cuban restaurant were open into the evening, however, the Goblin Market and Moonshine shop were unfortunately closed. All in all, the magic of Mt Dora was on full display with its Christmas lights and decorations! It was magical and I can't wait to come back!

The weather was hot, probably the hottest of the year.

The weather was hot, probably the hottest of the year. But restaurants were great, plenty of different choices and prices. Sunsets and nature were great, and plenty of shopping, antiques and artsy and we caught an opening night theater that was packed and delightful.

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful little house in Mount Dora. The accommodation was wonderfully equipped, very clean, and had everything we needed to feel completely comfortable. It is a truly lovely home in a beautiful town. We felt very welcome and enjoyed every moment of our stay. If we ever come back to Mount Dora, we would be very happy to stay here again. We are leaving with many wonderful memories and can highly recommend this place.

Location of the cottages is perfect for a visit to Mount Dora. Only a 5 minute walk to downtown so very easy to get a meal and a few drinks and then far enough out to be completely quiet at night. Accommodation was very comfortable and well enough equipped with everything we needed. The interior was maybe a bit dated but for us that added to the charm of the building and the town as a whole. Would definitely book again if we revisit in the future
