Well the most thing I like about nelsonville it's kind of in...

Well the most thing I like about nelsonville it's kind of in the middle of nowhere but on the downside you mean you don't really have cell phone reception and things like that so if you want to kind of watch movies or do your thing in your phone not like you know my everyday activities but mainly just streaming movies and stuff was hard to kind of do because of the signal and service and stuff but other than that it was pretty decent

I loved every detail here.

I loved every detail here. The owner was so kind and went out of his way to accommodate me in every way! The property was immaculate and so inviting and cozy! The decor was beautiful and made me wanna go home and redecorate lol 😆! And the scenery was beautiful. Getting in was effortless and i even overslept and they were so kind about allowing time to get myself together before having to rush and get on the road. I genuinely wished i had booked for atleast 1 or 2 more days!

We went to the Rocky Outlet (which has tons of boots!).

We went to the Rocky Outlet (which has tons of boots!). We also stopped by the coffee shop in town. Great smells were emanating from Star Brick Barbecue. We ate dinner in town at Rhapsody, which is affiliated with Hocking College. Our dinners were delicious! The servings were generous, the beer was really good (a local Russian Imperial Stout from Jackie O's in Athens). They also had an acoustic guitar artist who provided just the right amount of background ambiance. We were celebrating a birthday and it was perfect! (BTW, Rhapsody accepts reservations through Open Table.) We were disappointed that so many of the Nelsonville shops were closed. We hope to return later in the spring and possibly take the scenic rail tour (it was also closed on the weekend we were there). We also enjoyed the art gallery that features works from area students. Some of the pieces were so creative.

We stayed for the New Year’s Eve train.

We stayed for the New Year’s Eve train. But was very disappointed when we checked in and had to go to Athens for dinner because with the exception of pizza all restaurants were closed. Even the bar at our lodge was closed for the holiday. If we plan on doing the train again next year, we will just stay in Athens at least we’ll have dinner choices.
