What Guests Said About Pella:

Pella, Iowa is a really cool little town.

Pella, Iowa is a really cool little town. It gives you driving access to other places like Des Moines (the big city) and towns like Knoxville which has a really good breakfast place we went to called coffee connect. Tulip time (The Tulip festival) is busy…like the town is stuffed with people. I recommend everyone go at some point. It’s worth the drive. Be forewarned the hotel prices are very high during Tulip time. The town itself accepts and dives into its Dutch heritage. Little kids to grandparents wear traditional Dutch clothing. There are some very good bakeries and coffee shops in town. The college is worth a walk. We talked to a professor there and she said it had about 1,100 students. The town also supports the college by wearing gear which is unique for a D3 level school. Again everyone should visit at least one time for 1-2 days.

Was a little disappointed that there were not tulip fields.

Was a little disappointed that there were not tulip fields. That was the purpose of our visit. Festival was fine but probably would never go again. Town was very clean and well kept. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a "okay" girls trip but probably wouldn't recommend. Definitely have no plans of returning.

Went to Pella for tulip festival. storm weeks ago devastated flowers. The parades, dancing, fireworks, and craft market were good for 2 days, We stayed longer to visit quilt shops in the area. People very friendly. Festival food typical, not great. tractor ride in carts ok, gave more information on founders, than the buildings we saw., Would not go if interested in Architectural of buildings. Went to historic village. It was worth the $25. It is the location of the large windmill. Did not participate in the clog run. Enjoyed the locals wearing clogs, even the marching band had them.

Great celebration, grandstand shows were a little redundant.

Great celebration, grandstand shows were a little redundant. Enjoyed the festivities and the tours. The food was great, tried some things that we had never heard of before. Enjoyed the architecture of a lot of the buildings, keeping in the theme of the country that was represented by the people who had settled the area. The fly in at the airport was great, could have watched that for hours. The individuals that we talked to who were local were especially hospitable, and helpful. Possibly 2.5 days may have been a little too long, but we were glad that we had come to the Tulip Time in Pella.

Pella is a wonderful community that celebrates its Dutch heritage and does it up right! There is a working windmill in town, and many beautiful homes and shops. Great places to eat and the pastry treats from the Jaarsma Bakery are not to be missed!

Pella is such a quaint little town.

Pella is such a quaint little town. Strolling through the shops in downtown/uptown was so nice. Ate at the Windmill for breakfast and the food was amazing with large portions. The shop keepers are friendly and not only do they know their shops, they know what other shops carry and recommend the other shops if they don't carry what you may be browsing for! We even stopped into the Opera House and they let us tour the renovated building, which is absolutely beautiful! I don't think we entered anything were the locals were not giving you a friendly "hello"!

Everything was very clean! As a housekeeping manager for a large hotel I can always tell what does and doesn't get done and honestly this was one of the absolute cleanest rooms I've stayed in! We had a king suite and it was very spacious and homey.

We've stayed here 2x before and really liked it. We will stay here if we return to Pella, a delightful Dutch town, with friendly people and 2 wonderful Dutch bakeries.
