JapanWe were surprised that there wasn’t a breakfast in the hotel, but after we saw our room with kitchenette understood the basic premise of the place. The room was wonderfully laid out for long stays. I enjoyed the workout room and free coffee in the lobby. There wasn’t anything around the hotel to see, but our purpose was to visit relatives and we just needed a place to stay, so it was perfectly located for that.

I needed accommodations near Tacoma but a little way from...
I needed accommodations near Tacoma but a little way from the bustle of the I-5 corridor. Puyallup was about 20-25 minutes by freeway from the area where I spent my time in the city, but it was worth it to me. The South Hill Mall area is suburban and easy to navigate. Everything I needed was available in familiar retail stores. There were several interesting ethnic restaurants in the area which is always a plus to me. The older part of Puyallup near the state fairgrounds is also clean, pleasant with a welcoming small town feeling. Puyallup is about 35 minutes from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

A lot to do in the Seattle area.
A lot to do in the Seattle area. We'll back for more exploring of the area. Definitely go downtown for the well known attractions. Tides Tavern and Anthony's at Point Defiance were our favorite restaurants.

Nice town. I have been to Tacoma a bunch but never here.
Nice town. I have been to Tacoma a bunch but never here. Same kinda town. Not walkable, you need a car unless your hotel is near your event. No one living under the highway. The state fair is fun. BOC!

Puyallup was a stopover for our daytrip into Tacoma the following day to visit the LeMay Auto Museum. If you are travelling in the Puyallup/Tacoma area and are a car enthusiast the LeMay museum is a must see!

The perfect distance between Tacoma and Seattle.
The perfect distance between Tacoma and Seattle. We did both. Dennys in the parking lot was a plus with shopping nearby. The car show at the Fair grounds was a treat. We shopped and ate at local restaurants. Walmart, TJMaxx, Applebee's, Total Wine and much more...

I stay here a couple of times a year.
I stay here a couple of times a year. Staff is sparse, but friendly.The old motel is suffering from too many guests and poor maintenance. Price is the leader here. Most other are hotels are way more expensive. Plus, they do provide a breakfast of sorts with yogurt, cold cereal, fruit and a minuscule sweet role with free hot coffee.
Walmart, Grocery outlet, & other box stores are a quarter mile away
& up the hill, along with many food options from Burger King & Jack in the Box, and Chic filet to little food shops -- mostly Asian, but all are pretty good.

Breakfast was very good. Always helpful to have that provided as part of the stay when you are juggling all the things you have to do and places you need to be on a trip. I also appreciated the the hotel accepted a very large dog (120 pounds) who was in town for an obedience trial at a nearby dog show.
