PortugalStaff were great. Very informative, gave us a tour of the Inn and tried to help us however they could. Beautiful place with all period furniture. Our room was very nice and a nice location close to the docks.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Accommodations were very convenient to everything! Food choices are excellent! We had a Fantabulous July 4th weekend! They have a great festival and the fireworks are fantastic!

If you visit St.
If you visit St. Mary's, take the trip on the ferry to Cumberland Island for the day. It is wonderful. If you go, please pack a full bag or backpack with lunch and drinks. There are no restaurants or sundries on the island. You will see the amazing ruins of the Dungeness mansion (owned by steel magnate Andrew Carnegie) and wild feral horses. It is really amazing.

We stopped here for an overnight on a road trip.
We stopped here for an overnight on a road trip. Close to very quaint downtown area with shops, a park and restaurants. 2 mile drive to downtown. Very comfortable hotel. Not fancy, but has all that you need for a pleasant stay. Would definitely stay again on a road trip.

This is a quaint historic town on the St Mary's river.
This is a quaint historic town on the St Mary's river. There are opportunities for experiencing history and the local restaurants are homy and casual. A trip to Cumberland Island is highly recommended with a van tour. My personal recommendation is Vicki as your tour guide. She also works at the Museum in town.

A lovely historical b&b a true “gone with the wind” experience. Mardja was a great host and Carl a real gentleman. Breakfast was very good but it would have been nice to have a choice of cold breakfast cereal on the menu.

A delightful town with several good restaurants.
A delightful town with several good restaurants. One day on Cumberland Island and another enjoying the town. And, if you want to use it for a base to see the other islands, its easy driving distance to them.
Cumberland Island is definitely worth the trip alone. I suggest Land and Legends tour and Bill is a great guide. And, even a half day walking around the south end of the island would be fun.

The Pictures do no align with reality. Its not worth the price. There are many hotels/motels near by with same or better quality much cheaper. The image online makes the hotel look much newer..The wifi randomly stops, Roaches everywhere,

This is a great hotel set in the heart of St Mary's. The views across the bay are spectacular, I sat out overy night on the porch each night which was great. Friendly staff and great food.
