Selma is struggling, and still needs rebuilding.

Selma is struggling, and still needs rebuilding. It was once a sweet town, but SO many empty homes and businesses....boarded up, falling down. I was inspired by the park at the entrance to Edmund Pettus Bridge, which told the story of Bloody Sunday when black folks peacefully marching for justice were beaten and killed......until I learned that the bridge was and still is named for a member of the Ku Klux Clan.

A very quiet city that has an important history for us to learn about. Visitors should take several days to visit and schedule time in the evenings to research what has been written about Selma. The people all across the city were warm and gracious to us as we walked about to visit the shops and eateries.

the city of Selma is great.Baymont Wyndam was horrible.

the city of Selma is great.Baymont Wyndam was horrible. My room was rented to another customer.I was given another room at an increased price without my acknowledgement. I was promised a refund that I have not rec'd at this time. the manager is never available when I call. I am always told another time/date. My phone number has been given continuously. Booking.com said also that I would be reimbursed. I did not check out on the date that the ticket indicates. I was told to stay to morning because of the long trip.

Our 5th visit to Selma and so much history.

Our 5th visit to Selma and so much history. The civil rights history comes alive and Selma is to be congratulated for their outstanding improvements in race relations. We especially love the Church Street Methodist Church and the museums.
