If youre looking to disconnect from the mad rush for a bit...
If youre looking to disconnect from the mad rush for a bit its a great lil hideaway or a great resting point for travelers. Not a lot to draw in tourist in the area. A few scenic areas close by like Whittles Mill and Lake Gaston and the Casino in petersburg if you're up for the ride.
Food choices in area are varied. Largest that we came across was Cracker Barrel...which is hit or miss with service.

Affordable and convenient to the highway this hotel is great! The staff is friendly and always accommodating and the rooms are clean and neat! The bed is not lumpy and the amenities are fabulous. I left some items at home in a rush and the hotel staff provided with toiletries and bedroom slippers! Definitely a great choice and the breakfast is amazing! Blueberry waffle batter was on point !

Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious breakfast of sausage, gravy, biscuits, mini cheese omelettes, bagels, muffins, cereal, and coffee brewing 24 hrs. Wifi was great with computers accessible in lobby. Great location walking distance to restaurants and gas stations. Interstate nearby. Extra bonus, washer and dryer avail on 2nd floor. Definitely will stay here again on next trip to South Hill.

The staff and accommodations were nice, the food was fine.
The staff and accommodations were nice, the food was fine. The only thing that was not up to par was the cleanliness of the first room we were given and all the public areas. A vacuum to the carpets would have done wonders for the public areas. The staff was very nice and went out of their way to be helpful. All in all I would stay there again.

South Hill is a perfect lodging location when traveling from...
South Hill is a perfect lodging location when traveling from Athens Ga. to DC. We enjoy eating at Lucas Italian Restaurant which is one exit south.
The hotel room is fairly quiet even located next to a Love’s truck stop. Just put the fan to continuous running. A quiet area other that a few trucks arriving and leaving.
The hotel is kept very clean and is modern, efficient and stylish. Nice hot breakfast options with great cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit. I liked the egg white omelette with vegetables. There was a cheese omelette option.
Overall great relaxing hotel with friendly staff.
We were traveling to see a new granddaughter so didn’t have a chance to take in the sites. Beautiful countryside though.

The cleanest place I have been in a while. The town people still greet with a warm smile and hello.

This hotel was convenient, has an elevator and is clean. The linen could use replacing by the ownership but the staff keep the hotel clean and in decent condition. Expect some wear on the furniture etc but everything works, is clean and I had no issues what so ever for an overnight travel stay. The gym is down for maintenance/not open...otherwise there is a breakfast and overall decent value.

My check in was greet, Britney made arrangements for me to check in early, since my companion was feeling well, I had to go see my sister who was about to have brain surgery....So I was already stressed and upset , she made everything fabulous.,... South Hill is my hometown...
So I always look forward to a visit

It was clean, updated, quiet, and close to 85. The last time we stayed in a holiday inn express it was not a good experience. We were apprehensive, but this was wonderful. The woman who helps with breakfast was friendly and attentive and made sure everything was perfect!
