We went to school at PSU 50 years ago.
We went to school at PSU 50 years ago. Our kids went there 10-15 years ago. The downtown area is now a claustrophobic jumble of high rises. What was once a nice college town now looks horrible. I doubt that we will be back.

The staff was welcoming and friendly.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. They were the best thing about our stay. Unfortunately, the beds were uncomfortable and the refrigerator started making a humming sound off and on overnight. Additionally, we were close to the pool where there were some loud children having fun. They sounded as if they were running up and down the hallway. I wouldn't say our overall experience was exactly unpleasant but I can't recommend this hotel.

We loved visiting Penn State in State College.
We loved visiting Penn State in State College. It was a wonderful town that was full of life, restaurants and a gorgeous campus. Visit the Penn State Creamery and the Nittany Lion Statue. Also Gigi's Southern Restaurant was beyond amazing!! Go eat dinner there!

The place was great specially for nature lover. The people looks kind. The places around Penn State are great and your College Students will definitely love the place and enjoy the surroundings. Everything was accessible. It was a nice place to stay.

My spouse and I visit because our child attends PSU.
My spouse and I visit because our child attends PSU. It's a great college town but you have to be diligent about where to stay and plan as far ahead for football games and school events as prices everywhere skyrocket due to the high demand.

The PSU campus is absolutely gorgeous.
The PSU campus is absolutely gorgeous. The architecture is something to see. The brick work throughout campus makes it so classy and the sidewalks lead you everywhere! We used a GPS to wiggle out way throughout the campus. College Avenue is fun to walk, the shops, restaurants and bars are many.
Don't forget the Creamery and Meyers Dairy!
Great town for a weekend getaway!!
