Rock'n Randy is by far the greatest Front Desk Manager I have ever dealt with at a hotel. They'd better figure out how to clone this guy and build an Army to save the world. This guy has a big heart for people and his customer service is stellar. I have spent years working in hotels and Randy is special and he made our Polar Express trip worth a lifetime of memories. Thank you, Randy.

Personal favorites include the deli at Farm Stand organic grocery, Petit Provence on 2nd Street, and Big Jim's Drive-In a bit further out on 2nd Street The one-way streets and round-abouts can be confusing and frustrating at times, but are easy once you get accustomed to the flow.

Beautiful sunrises and the frequency of AA meetings for me...

Beautiful sunrises and the frequency of AA meetings for me to attend in The Dalles makes it all the more pleasant and peaceful for this newly recovering guy to be in a good place mentally!!! I highly recommend Cousins restaurant for a delicious breakfast and if I wasn't on the high protein low carbs diet I would demolish one of their cinnamon rolls!! They are huge and look devine 🫶

The Dalles is a great place to visit.

The Dalles is a great place to visit. It is located on the Columbia River that many wind surfers enjoy. Also, the Lewis and Clark trail is there and also National Parks close by, Lastly it has many places to eat, from fast foods to Mexican Restaurants (our favorites). Wait a minute - just want to mention the Super 8 motel staff are always very nice to our pet dog.

Very friendly and flexible staff.

Very friendly and flexible staff. Clean, comfortable room with pillow mattress and other amenities for an overnight stay. Offered wine at check in. They feature a patio with a great view of the Gorge for afternoon wine o'clock happy hour. Parking lot was large and very safe for dog walking.

I like the area because there were shops and adequate...

I like the area because there were shops and adequate parking. my main reason for visiting area was the big Goodwill industries store? Store was really big, very clean, well organized, very reasonable prices and helpful employees. Also, The Dalles was halfway stop. On my way to Portland Oregon. Easy access off and on the freeway.

First time staying in The Dalles.

First time staying in The Dalles. We previously seemed to go by it on the way to another destination. The power of the dam releasing water was impressive. We had dinner at Casa El Mirador. Very good authentic Mexican food with a caring, attentive staff. Breakfast was at The Riv Cafe which is in a wonderful 100 year old stone church. Everything on the menu is house made and delicious. The neighborhood is filled with gracious turn of the century houses.

I had to change my reservation and had trouble with Booking.com, so I contacted the hotel directly. The young woman who helped me was so accommodating and took care of everything I needed. When we arrived, she was on the front desk and remembered me. She was unfailingly friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The room was comfortable and spacious, and provided what we needed.

I liked the value for money and the location. The hotel was very clean and had recently been renovated so was in much better condition than I expected for a Super 8. Even though the location was central and close to the highway, we didn't have issues with road noise.

This was good location for us, close to highway and some shops. Room was large unfortunately the coffee machine did not work but that was minor. We had a nice dinner in restaurant, the waitress was great, all the staff in this hotel were very good.

Breakfast room was the best located with a view. Everything was clean. the onsite laundry facility was perfect but the hotel should have a limited supply of soap for the washing machine. All in all a good stop on our road trip.
