Wharton isn't a very popular tourist destination - I have...

Wharton isn't a very popular tourist destination - I have family in East Bernard nearby. I wasn't visiting for a "happy occasion," I had a funeral to attend. Wharton is a great town with lots of historical value, a true diamond in the rough. They had a farmer's market that weekend that shut down an entire street, and the locals were absolutely amazing. It's near farming towns (if it isn't one, itself - I don't know much about the history of Wharton specifically) so the produce was fresh and they were able to answer questions about when it was harvested and pesticides/success rates for specific crops so far this year. .

The room was clean and inviting. Only an hour out of Houston Medical Center, which assisted travel time to and from home in the Valley (Texas). Very nice employees always willing to ensure your stay was positive. The room had a microwave and very nice refrigerator and freezer - bonus. Comfortable King Size bed and large television.
