Greenhorn Park is really wonderful.
Greenhorn Park is really wonderful. It has a lake (a reservoir fed by a creek), a playground, picnic area, and hiking trails.
Excellent pizza at Smoked Tomato Pie.
Wonderful coffee shop is Zephyr Books and Coffee.
People were very friendly.

Great jump off spit for the county of Siskiyou.
Great jump off spit for the county of Siskiyou. Lots of interesting places in the area to visit,just be careful of the abundant homeless population that crowd the business area especially around the shops and fast food restaurants that are grouped at one end of town. Town us easy to get around in and Green springs park has excellent walking and play areas around the lake.

I've traveled through Yreka for years and stopped for coffee...
I've traveled through Yreka for years and stopped for coffee, food and gas. Seems like it has suffered from Weed's proximity and doesn't have the quaintness, charm of the small towns south of Weed. It isn't pretty, it's stretched out along the highway making it inaccessible by foot, and it has not developed any particular reason for a traveler to stay any longer than necessary. It's a shame really.

The ice machine area smelled of ironed and there were all the makings of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with everything open and messy on top of the ice machine. It seemed like maybe a homeless person was there. The bathroom was not very clean, breakfast over promised and under delivered.

Yreka is an old mining town with lots of gold mining history...
Yreka is an old mining town with lots of gold mining history. Walk Miner St. to see very old buildings. Visit the Museum and see great displays and learn the history for yourself.
A couple nice restaurants, lots of fast food eating!

Nice hotel just off the I-5, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Simple breakfast bar but it had peanut butter packs which you don't find in many places. Travelled on Thanksgiving day so it was nice that the restaurant across the parking lot from the hotel was open until 9 PM

The staff was exceptionally friendly, and streamline process (and reasonable fee) for having my dog. I left shortly after checking in, but that was not related to the hotel conditions, rather related to my dog's state of disorientation and anxiousness.

Nice place. The guest room of the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are average - in line with the price. Crickets in the rooms are certainly bad. The availability of breakfast is a plus. There are board games and billiards.
